I have been using this volume express mascara by Maybelline on and off for the past few weeks and I can say that I am satisfied with the outcome that it gives for my lashes.
Volum’Express Mascara in Very Black (net wt: 10 ml)
A simple but yet lovely packaging. I really like the packaging since it has an elegant look on it. The brush is thin and the wand is of standard wand size. The formula dries up pretty fast and this black color mascara really makes my eyes looks bigger and natural looking.
It lengthens and add volume to my lashes making it look fabulous. On this look, I did a double application for an optimum results. It does looked a little bit clumpy at the tip of my lashes. But you can see that it separates my lashes perfectly.
This mascara is very easy to use and I admit that I’m not so crazy about the clumps but definitely love the lengthening and voluminizing effect on my eyes. Another set back on this mascara is that it is not waterproof.
So, if you are looking for a waterproof type then you are better off with their Volum’ Express in Colossal, Big Eyes and Pumped up.
Overall, I am quite happy with my purchase and would definitely repurchase again once I ran out. It’s a decent mascara and the price is reasonably priced for a drugstore brand.
Which of the Maybelline mascara did you owned?
Thank you for reading.
This is one of my latest Maybelline foundation and I have been loving it so far. I like the consistency of the texture and it smells real amazing. It has sheer to medium coverage and it blends so well. I have no problem blending it and just love the soft and smooth feeling on my skin. It provides a very natural looking coverage. Once the foundation sets, I would say that it gives a semi-matte finishing or dewy finish which by the way not oily. If you have combination oily skin, then using it with Maybelline Fit Me Powder will do the trick of covering the dewy finish to matte finish.
The color swatch in 315 Soft Honey seems a little bit orange-y tone. I was shocked at first glance when I did the color swatch but once I tried it, I just love it. One warning is that this foundation tends to changed color once it’s on your skin – due to oxidation. On my buffing brush the shade is similar as the color swatch above and it blended out amazingly. This foundation sets quite quickly. Therefore, I have to say, my vote of satisfaction for this product is absolute. There are many different color shades to choose and make sure to spend some time to test the shades before getting them.
The other side of the coin is that it claims to have SPF 18, but the sunscreen doesn’t seems to have an adequate UVA protection for the skin. Losing some of the important ingredients of making the sunscreen better. Note: Shades # 330, 340, and 360 do NOT have sunscreen.
I like the glass bottle packaging but I would prefer that the top bottle opening has a pump applicator. I’m clumsy at times and tend to drop my makeup or accidentally pour out too much liquid especially when I’m in a hurry. But other than the lower SPF, I’m finding true love with Maybelline Fit Foundation.
My 2 cents of this foundation is that it has excellent quality and great value for money. I might say that i’s quite close to the Makeup Forever dupe foundation. I will definitely repurchase. Love it!
I would love to know what color shades will you get?

Hey lovelies! Few weeks ago, as I was browsing on the Maybelline makeup shelves at one of the drugstore. I fell upon this amazing eyeshadow palette The NUDES.
I find The NUDES from Maybelline quite similar but definitely not a dupe for the Urban Decay NAKED Palette in their neutral colors. Don’t get me wrong, I love Urban Decay eyeshadow palette but this drugstore version is totally hard not to grab one.
It costs me like $14.99 plus tax at my local drugstore and that was the last second palette on the counter since it was just launched not too long ago. The price is decent and there are no other drugstore brands that has these twelve wonderful eyeshadows in the same palette on the shelves yet.
The colors are pretty and there are six shimmering colors and six matte shadows. The texture of this product is quite pigmented and not chalky. I tried it and wear them for almost 8 hours and it’s amazing how long it lasted. I don’t have to touch-up. Yeah!
Behind the packaging you can find some sort of isometric guide on how to apply the makeup correctly especially for beginners or fellow enthusiasts.
Overall, the packaging looks simple and I love the neutral look. Since it was launched recently, I will definitely going to get another one to stock up just in case. I’m sure you can find it at any drugstores and do check out at Walmart or Target. The last time I heard, Walmart is selling it for $10.00 a palette but I got mine from my local drugstore (Shoppers’ Drug Mart) for $14.99 and the prices can be different depending on which stores you frequented.
I am pretty well impressed with Maybelline’s The NUDES eyeshadow so far. Keep more coming “Nudes!”
