ELF Concealer|Review

elf concealer

I bought this concealer from Target a long while ago when Target was still here, thinking this e.l.f.¬†concealer¬†would be great for covering my dark circles, it is creamy, comes in a stick packaging, and it has a peachy tone, and so I purchased it. The shade I got is in Beige. It’s available in four different shades at US Target and on e.l.f website for $3.00.

I’ve tried wearing it for a few months ago but had left it on the back burner until two days ago, I started to wear it again. And here is my review on this concealer. I expected much better from elf especially since it’s their studio line that has the best products but I’m slightly disappointed to say the least. So, let’s get into it. The texture of¬†this concealer is creamy¬†and it blends well without having any pulling under my eyes which is awesome. The formula is not hard and not sticky at all. It comes in a twist up concealer packaging which is very convenient and easy to use.

I do like it for it works pretty well for under my dark circles but it’s not like a holy grail¬†for me. The price is affordable and it perform as an average concealer does. I like that this formula is lightweight and it blends out effortlessly by just patting them with my fingers. Okay now that I’ve clear up the good let’s get to the bad, whahaha!

I heard some mixed review about¬†this concealer and it could pretty much¬†be a hit-or-miss depending on each person. But for me,¬†I’m sitting on the fence for it does cover a tinnie tiny bit¬†under my dark circle but it doesn’t give a full coverage. It has low coverage but was able to pull up to medium by layering. It does cover some acne and redness around my nose area but that was it.¬†So, if you have bad dark circles then you will not like this concealer.¬†There are some oily feeling around my¬†eyes while washing off¬†the makeup.

To sum up, I’ll not repurchase this concealer again since it doesn’t give good coverage and it leaves¬†oily residue on my skin which I’m not very fond of. This is just my opinion and it might work well for others but it’s not something I’ll go and reach for.

Drugstore Madness Wednesday|Hard Candy Heavy Duty Concealer

It’s time for the¬†Drugstore Madness Wednesday! $1 for a travel size concealer. How cool is that, right!

I was inspired by the¬†Glamoflauge¬†foundation that gets¬†me going back to Walmart to¬†check out more¬†of the Hard Candy’s products. While browsing, I stumbled into this travel¬†size Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer by Hard Candy on the liquidation racks. Needless to say, I’ve got to pick this up since it costs $1 only. Sadly, that’s the only shade available which is a bummer but I don’t really mind if it’s Ultra Light or not a this point. My brain is telling me to get it no matter what as if it a limited edition or something. I think it’s a recently acquired habit of me picking up products that has only one left. Is it only me or do you guys have this habit as well? Hmm… I’m curious to know.

Anyways, let’s just hop right in. Dang it! This shade in Ultra Light is obviously too pale on¬†me but for $1, I don’t mind trying it with my¬†Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser which I happened to do a review recently.¬†I’ll put the link down below if you like to check it later.

I notice that the consistency of this formula is much thicker than other eye concealers I’ve tried before. But even though it feels thick, I don’t have the problem of¬†blending or taping it gently down with¬†my¬†fingers. I suggest using your fingers instead of a blending brush but do what you’re more accustomed to. The reason why you’re using your fingers is so that the heat from your fingers will melt and make blending a breeze. But that’s just my opinion that’s all.

This heavy duty concealer will give a full coverage on the dark circles, under your chin, blemishes, acne and redness around the nose areas. So, a little goes a long way. I wouldn’t recommend layering it since it might cause the finishing looking cakey.

When I mixed this Hard Candy concealer with Maybelline Instant Age-Rewind (full review here), it blends perfectly. The light shade wasn’t that obvious after mixing the two formula together. I’m satisfied with the appearance and the performance so far and will continue to be using this concealer. It has¬†good quality and value for money.

So, what do you think of this concealer? Have you tried and Hard Candy products from Walmart? Please like and leave your comment on the section below.
