1 Brand No Fuss FOTD – COLOURPOP

Hi guys! It’s been raining outside¬†so¬†it’s dark, gloomy and cozy morning as¬†I sat down in front my laptop to write this post. I¬†don’t know about you but¬†I’m elated when it rains. I love listening to the sound of the falling rain. Is it just me or anyone else like it too?

I’m bringing back 1 brand No Fuss #FOTD today. I actually have a lot of requests to either redo an old 1 brand makeup post or feature new brands¬†that I haven’t features before. I did a Colourpop haul and I nearly get everything I need to create this” No fuss” face of the day!

Products Used:

I’m not doing a full makeup tutorial so I skip the process of applying foundation and concealers. I¬†prep my face with Positively Ageless SPF 30¬†moisturizer¬†by Aveeno and then I go ahead to apply the¬†BB cream¬†from Lab Story which is my current favorite. They’re honestly the best I’ve tried. If you’re curious to learn more, simply¬†click here for more detailed review.

The first thing I gravitated towards were the eyeshadows. I absolutely love all of these shades.¬†They’re warm toned and perfect for everyday wear.

  • Paradox – warm satin burgundy red
  • Seeker –¬† warm matte reddish brown
  • Jinxie –¬†soft pearlized gold
  • Elixir – matte terracotta

My favorites has to be Paradox, Seeker and Elixir. These kind of shades are always my favorite because they make my eyes pop. It’s nicely pigmented and easy to apply. It doesn’t fade or crease throughout the day.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

First I apply Elixir on my crease and blend it nicely. Then I go on applying Paradox on the lids. With the same color I smudge it out on my under eye area. I used Seeker for the outer corner while Jinxie on the inner corner and on the brow bone.

A water-resistant Cr√®me Gel in Bangin’ Brunette in true brunette brown. Packaging is a cute glass jar with white screw on the lid, and I‚Äôve always loved ColourPop‚Äôs holographic logo.

That aside, I really like the formula of this cream gel. The consistency is great, it’s creamy and easy to use. A little goes a LONG way with this.¬† It slides smoothly and sticks to the skin. I’ve black hair and¬†the shade “Banging Brunette” is perfect for me. I’ve no intention of switching for now.

  • First of, with Dope Taupe brow pencil spoolie I brush my brows up, used light and small strokes to outline the shape and when I’m satisfied with the shape I want, I got ahead to fill in any empty spaces or sparse areas with the Brow Colour Cr√®me Gel in Bangin’ Brunette.
  • As for my wing, I used Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner in Black since I misplaced the¬†Creme Gel liner I got from Colourpop.
  • I didn’t use mascara for this look since I’m going for the “no fuss” makeup #FOTD”.

This Brow Pencil is in the shade Dope Taupe. Each pencil is double-ended, with the pigment on one side and a spoolie on the other, leaving you with no excuse to not blend your color and brush your brows into shape. So brilliant!

Note that I barely pressed down on my hand with this pencil and you can totally see  a nice color payoff from it. It has a nice pigmentation and glide on amazingly.

It’s a spoolie that combs and brush very well.

Next is the Super Shock Cheek blush in the shade Quarters.¬†Quarters is described as a mid-tone dusty coral in a satin finish. This blush comes in a circle plastic container with a twist-up cap.¬†I find the texture of the blush very soft and almost creamy. It’s super soft to the touch and I feel like if I press my finger on the pan, it will leave a deep dent.

Fingertips will provide the highest amount of coverage. Color builds from natural-looking flushed look to more intense bright looks. This blush is very pigmented and buildable. Build to your heart’s desire!

I love Colourpop and I love this pretty shade. Perfect everyday color to wear this summer.

This is part of their Lippie Stik line. The shade I got is in Cami Matte X and it’s described as cool toned mauve. The packaging is of a white, slim and it’s a crayon lipstick. ¬†It’s a crayon lipstick but it’s not the typical pointed tip. It’s actually slanted as you can see on the photo below.

The formula of this lipstick itself is amazing. It’s super creamy and super pigmented. One swipe is all you need. ¬†There are different finishes of the Lippie Stix but Cami Matte X¬†comes in matte. Longevity as you may have guessed is unbelievable!

If you’re a matte lover, I think you’ll be really impressed with these textures. I’m loving this pretty shade and the formula.

These are intensely pigmented and apply evenly. Application is incredible and so is the opacity. It also doesn’t feel anywhere near as dry as the other brands¬†I’ve. It feels comfortable on the lips. I love it so much that I want a few more… hahaha!

I use my fingers to pack the color on the cheeks. I just use it lightly and it can last up to 5 hours.

This is the finish look.¬†Hope you enjoyed this “no fuss” face of the day! I really like the way everything came together.¬†While this look is fun and has pops of color, I think it is still very wearable.

Conclusion, you¬†just can’t go wrong with Colourpop makeup products. I think it’s a must-buy ¬† If you enjoyed this post, don’t forget to give it a thumbs up or comment. Let me know your requests for future 1-brand “No Fuss” looks!

Have you picked up anything from this brand lately? Did you know that Colourpop is bunny approved. Meaning they test their products leaving fur babies to be fur babies, they’re cruelty free?

Under $15 Drugstore Holiday Gift Sets

Hey guys! Today we’re talking about the Under $15 Drugstore Holiday Gift Sets. I’ve very excited to share with you this post since I got them from Walmart.

I’ve been picking and collecting a lot of holiday gift items as the week gets closer to Christmas. There are so many exciting and new gift sets rolling out to¬†the¬†drugstores.

For a starter let’s get into¬†Elf Cosmetics¬†which came out with this four piece “Mad for Matte” lip¬†color set for the holiday. I really like the whole product format in this.

The colors are top notch and you guys knows I love a good matte lip products and these is just right up my alley. The packaging comes in a slim stick design and also you got a lot of control when applying it. At the end of the stick there’s a pops off sharpener in case you want the tip to be finely pointed. I think this is brilliant! Comment below what you think?

Here are the four matte lipsticks that I’ve been loving lately. The colors are so pretty and truly matte finishing. The color intensity is fully there and for the price of CAD$15.00 (US$10.00) for all four, I think that’s awesome value!

I telling you that all these four shades are a winner in my book. You’ll get Pralline which is a beautiful neutral shade. I really love this color a lot for everyday wear. This color is fantastic on its own and you could also mixed it with nude for a natural nude lips.

Moving on is this Rich Red which is a true bright red. Gorgeous for this holiday season. I’m a huge fan of red lip color and this shade just knock me off¬†my feet. I love love this red. It’s very glam and if you’re trying out a new shade this

Next, I got Berry Sorbet which is a pink berry with¬†some brightness to it. On the days that I’m feeling my best, this shade is something I would wear for an evening out. Such a pretty color that’s long lasting and looks great on lips.

Last but not least is the shade Wine which is a nice holiday color of reddish berry. A little dark berry for fall and winter season. They wear comfortably on lips and they glide like a dream. No tugging or any feeling of dryness on my lips whatsoever.

From L-R: Pralline, Rich Red,Berry Sorbet and Wine. I’ll do¬†a lip swatch over at my Instagram if you’re curious.¬†

I also want to show you the color swatch I did on all four shades. They’re awesome matte lip color for less than a fraction of what you would pay for Bite Lipsticks. I highly recommend it.

The next set that I’m very excited to show you guys is their Get Glowing Highlighting Set. This is the best drugstore set that’s cruelty free and for CAD$15.00 (US$10.00) you couldn’t ask for more, I’m telling you.

Here’s the actual products in this set. There’s a brush, a shimmering facial whip and a illuminating palette.

There a good mixture of highlighter, a cooler pinky tone on the top right, the bottom of beige which is very subtle and the golden-y peach.

You get highlighting brush. The bristle is a little longer and you could use it for setting the under-eye or for the highlight. It’s very soft and I’ve been enjoying using it to blend the highlighter.

The glow is very subtle and I really like what it looks on swatch. Really enjoy the consistency of the formula and it’s a great highlighting palette if you’re trying out new products.

One of them is this Shimmery Facial Whip. I tell you this is the best I’ve tried yet. This shade is called Lilac petal but it doesn’t look lilac at all. It’s a soft peachy pink.

Just a tiny itsy bitsy size is enough to brighten your skin. A little goes a long way! It’s highly highly shimmery.

Just take a second and look at this swatch. Are you convince how little you need of this product to get this huge effect. Here is the result! As you can see, I blend it a little and then more as shown on the image below.

I wear it on my cheek as highlighter, tip of my nose and on my cupid bow. Love this to the moon and back. One word = Awesome.

These are products I’ve tried that really impressed. It excites me to give it to those in my list.

Question Tuesday

Q: Do you know that you could use lipsticks for everything?

Here’s how: A fun, classic hack is to get a makeup brush and apply your lipstick to your lips, but also to your cheeks and eyelids. Apply lightly for a sophisticated look. How cool is that!

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day. I hope to see you guys again on the next one. Bye!

Makeup Revolution MATTE Lipsticks- Review & Swatches

Hey guys! Hope you week if off to a great start.

Another new Makeup Revolution London¬†review today, at least to me! A few weeks ago, I ordered some beauty products online and¬†here¬†are¬†one of the many I got. For some of you, you might’ve seen it appeared on my Instagram feed. But here is the gist, you guys!

I’m super excited to do color swatches and try them on seriously. I must say my hunt for red matte lipstick ends here¬†for now.¬†Many of you might have¬†known¬†that I love a¬†good matte lipstick and red is my favorite color besides nude.

So anyways, let’s start …

The two products I wanted to features are the Rose Gold Lipsticks in Red Carpet and Iconic Pro Lipstick in Duel Matte and obviously both are from Make Up Revolution London. So yay!

Love the cute bullet packaging, especially the rose gold one on my right. The black tube reminds me of the Mac Lipsticks. And you can see the color at the bottom of the clear tube.

First and foremost,¬†Iconic Pro Lipstick in Duel Matte – I’m a sucker for matte lipsticks and I knew I would fall head over heels for these two babes.¬†

The Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro Lipstick line has 20 lipsticks in total with a fabulous mix of shades from nudes to brights and classic reds to vampy dark hues. A wide color selections that fit everyone.

Just look how fabulous the shape and color of this lipstick, please. This is a beautiful true¬†red and eye-catching lipstick that’s not over the¬†top in my opinion. It’s totally wearable and I know it would suit a vast majority of people. The formula is¬†richly pigmented and ¬†it goes on ¬†ever so smoothly. I am really impressed with how pigmented these lipsticks are.

Another thing¬†I wanted to mention is that I don’t feel that there’s any tugging or patchy finish on lips. I love the formula and yes, it feels very comfortable.

There is a hint of smell on this lipstick but it’s¬†scented enough to be pleasant without being overpowering. It wouldn’t cause me headache like some other brands do.

I find that they do stain the lips a little which I don’t mind at all as I find that as the color wears off, I’m still left with a little color underneath. I would say that the staying power is about 6-7¬†hours.¬†So, I’m not complaining!

I’ve also been wearing this lipstick the last one week or so and I think now is the perfect time to share my thoughts on this. So, let’s get to the review and see what I have to say about it.

This rose bullet feels lightweight yet looks luxurious. I like this packaging for it looks cute and sleek. I’m quite¬†impressed with the long lasting formula and color payoff. It’s definitely something I’ll go back and order a few more for¬†backups.

This shade is more of a true, traditional red.  It has a sexy and classically feminine look to it. I love love it! Excellent pigmentation and gorgeous matte finish without having the dry feeling on lips like some matte lipsticks do.

These lipsticks comes with an affordable price tag and I would definitely recommend you all to try them.

Conclusion –¬†The red shades are absolutely fabulous and I can see those that love red lipsticks really enjoying these as much as I do.

Have you given either of these products a whirl? Let me know what you think of them in the comments below! I love to read what you think.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope I’ll see you guys again on the next one. Bye!

Here’s a simple way to give your bold lip a 3D effect or ombre lips.

Three steps to a Quick Fix:

nude lips
Nude lips

Start applying your favorite lipstick as you normal would.

take 1

Add a lighter color from the same color family on the center of your lower lip. This method would create a fuller and extra dimension to lips.

take 2

Want more intensify lips, then apply the lighter color lipstick on the upper lip too.

take 3

And that’s all you need to do for a 3D dimension or ombre lips. Done!

Embellished by Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss

Revlon colorbusrt lipgloss (2)
Hey guys! Today I’ll be sharing with you a review on the lip gloss which I did a blog on my beauty haul last Friday. It’s the Revlon Colorburst Lip gloss in Embellished. Net wt: 0.20 fl oz . I picked this up for $4.99. It looks like a¬†dark plum color lip gloss to me.
lipgloss brush
The tip brush applicator is soft and blended well when I did the outline on my lips and filling my lips.
revlon color swatch apply lipgloss
Here is the color swatch which I did with¬†the¬†embellished lip gloss. It has a pretty¬†color and some glossy shimmer on it. It glides easily and not tacky at all. It looks dark when I wear them but under the natural light, the color doesn’t seems too gloomy on¬†my lips.
revlon colorburst finish gloss revlon colorbusrt lipgloss
I took one photo shot with indoor light and the other under natural daylight (second photos). My lips does feel moist and has some glossy finish. In terms of the lasting wear, let’s just¬†say that it will fade once we¬†started eating or drinking.¬†I like this lip gloss since even after the shine has faded¬†there was still a slight¬†color stain remains.

Revlon Colorbust has a selection of 18 fabulous shades to choose from and it says to have 5x more shine than patent leather.

Have you tried any of the Colorburst recently? If yes, which color did you picked? Please share comments below.

Thank you for reading.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick (The Rio Collection)

Alright ….¬†summer is almost coming to and end and I wouldn’t want to end my summer not¬†giving my first impression on¬†these amazing Revlon Super Lustrous Rio Collection lipsticks. I got mine at Target and it’s priced for $7.99. I picked up two¬†of my favorite shades in Carnival Spirit and Sultry Samba.

For this Rio Collection,¬†available in¬†3 lovely shades of : –

  • Carnival Spirit -a sheer ¬†coral orangy (shine) . It is moist and with light texture. I also picked up this Carnival Spirit to compare the sheer and matte formula.¬†I wore it for more than 3 hours and the color still stays on my lips eventhough the moisture has dried up a little. I wore this as a lip gloss since the texture is very sheer.

  • Sultry Samba – a matte velvety bright pink. It is drier than the other two formulas. It is creamy and the matte stays on without color¬†transferring. I wore them for¬†my makeup review¬†and to my suprised the bright pink doesn’t seems too pinkish on my lips.¬†I have warm undertone and usually pink is the color that I will avoid. Well, Revlon has done it again. I like this Sultry Samba already.
  • Brazilian Tan – a creamy formula. It would be perfect if you are¬†warm tone¬†and who like¬†nude color for everyday wear.

This is one of my favourite drugstore lipstick brand and Revlon hasn’t disappointed me yet.¬†I would love to see more of Revlon’s matte lipsticks in the drugstores.

Have you tried any of these lippies? Please leave comment below.

Thanks for reading.
