August Beauty Favorites!

Hey everybody! I’m back with an August Favorite.¬†

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I’m going to start with foundation this time around. I’m in love with this foundation even though it’s not my perfect color match which I’m going to explain and show you down below. But this Burberry Velvet Fluid Foundation is amazing. It’s so lightweight as if you’re not wearing anything at all. As many of you might have already know me, I’m a BB cream type of girl and this foundation has to be my favorite after Make Up Forever Water Blend Foundation. ¬†

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Love the luxe packaging. It comes in a glass bottle with a pump that twist to lock. This is targeted for combination and oily skin type person. It suppose to last for 12-14 hours wear.

I decided to start with one pump and with a damp beauty blender because that’s usually my favorite way to apply foundation or bb cream. Since I’ve combination skin, I like to wear it with a primer and moisturizer underneath the foundation for best result.¬†The consistency is really light, liquidy and it smells really good. And right as I apply it I can see it cancelled out my redness really well.¬†I used a total of 2 pumps on my whole face to get the coverage that I wanted. So far I was very pleased with the way it looks. After wearing it all day long I was pretty impressed by how it holds on to my skin without the need to touch up.

I think this is a wonderful foundation. It does dry quickly, but I use it with a damp beauty blender and it blends out amazingly. The formula allows you to layer up to full coverage without looking cakey or streaking.

The coverage is amazing, it’s so lightweight, and is perfect for my combination skin.¬†It dries to a velvety matte finish that looks airbrushed. The finish is just so beautiful. I really really like it apart from the wrong shade!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Everything would be fine, if not for the color I ¬†picked. The shade in Trench #202 has a pink undertone and too light for my NC25 skin tone. I believe it’s the 2nd lightest from their color range. I kick myself on the back when I realized my mistake. I should have gotten a #203 instead. You see I was overly excited when I saw this gem at Winners and everything just went blank after. Has this ever happened to anyone or is it just me?

Yes, it’s pricey and since the damage has been done, I found a way to fix my problem. I just mix it with darker foundation to get the right color match for my skin tone and I’m happy.

Overall, I do recommend it if you’ve very oily skin you’re going to love this but if you’re vice versa then this foundation is not for you. Don’t waste your money, there are other high end brands that perform just as awesome.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Next is the NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Jolie Poupee. This is a nice color purple combo duo by Nars. My first ever Nars eyeshadow and here’s my story.

I’ve been lusting for Nars products ever since I first saw Michelle Phan’s¬†earliest YouTube videos where she used this brand. Yes it’s that long ago and I’m happy that it finally landed in this post.

Nars Jolie Poupee

The left is a matte lavender and on the right is a bright purple shimmer. Both of them works really well and look beautiful. It has a nice pigmentation and it blends really well.

The color in the pan is gorgeous and would be perfect for fall smokey purple looks. This is a beautiful color purple if you’re into this shade. A lovely color that screams fall or if you aren’t afraid of trying a bit of color out of your comfort zone then you’ll love this duo. You should definitely get this one.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Last but not least I got another eyeshadow that I’ve been loving this month and it’s the TIGI Cosmetics High Density¬†Eyeshadow Singles in Chocolate. There’s only eight shades shadow available in this collection.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This is another amazing eyeshadow that’s true to its color with remarkable color payoff. A mineral based powder shadow that’s goes on smooth and highly pigmented.

TIGI Single Eyeshadow
Swatch on bare hand. NO primer

A matte shadow that keeps me reaching out every time I feel like wearing one shadow by it own. You can basically wear it wet or dry but I’m a creature of habit so I’ll go with dry application for that’s how I usually rolls.

My verdict – I wish they’ve more color options and easy to get my hands on. Otherwise, this is a great brand that’s gives you the most bang for your money.

FallcolorEOTD
NARS Smokey Purple Eyes combined with Chocolate by TIGI

I’m wearing the Lavender on my lids and the Purple for the crease. I then use the Chocolate shadow by TIGI for the outer corner of my eyes and on the bottom lid. Next, I apply flexitarian by Colourpop on my brow bone and the inner corner of my eyes. Complete it with Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner and Clinique Chubby Lash mascara. Makes brown eyes really pop. I always gets compliment on my eyes every time I wear this.

Eyeshadow Addicts – Lise Watier Eden Tropical Palette

It‚Äôs no secret that I am an eyeshadow addict. I think you can never just have one¬†eyeshadow palette. It‚Äôs practically impossible! It’s no surprise that I’m a proud owner of the not-so-little eyehshadow palette collection.

Note of caution: This post is picture heavy.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

My latest eyeshadow palette entry is this Lise Watier Eden Tropical for CAD$43.00 (on regular price) but¬†I got it from Winners with a¬†discounted price. I’m not sure if this is a limited edition but I’m just happy I have this in my collection.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I was drawn not only to the inside eyesadow but also to this unique tropical design packaging on this compact casing palette. It’s made of a sturdy plastic housing six eyeshadows. It comes with a decent size mirror and two sponge applicator.

Now, let’s take a look at these colors:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This six shadow pan is packed with colors and super blendable texture. As expected, ¬†this shadows are long¬†lasting even without primer¬†as I noticed that it¬†doesn’t budge or crease¬†all day. I’m wearing these shadows again today.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The texture of the shadows are with shimmer and metallic finishing. All the six shades really comes out really nice! Doing my happy dance! Oh yeah! Oh yeah!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

i noticed that the formula delivers not only on the pigmentation front but is also long-wearing and stays put all day (I always use an eyeshadow primer underneath) without any creasing or fading.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Color swatches – using my fingers to pick straight from the pan. Amazing color for spring.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This palette has¬†totally live up to its¬†name and the formula delivers not only on the pigmentation front but is also long-wearing. I’m really impressed with the quality but given the high price tag, I’ll probably wear it more for special events.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

These eyeshadow¬†swatches show how powerful the pigment in this palette¬†actually is. Gorgeous, don’t you think!

My thoughts:- I have nothing but good things to say about the Lise Watier Eden Tropical eyeshadows. I love the quality, the color selections and the value. I’m running over to my local Pharmaprix to grab some more products. I’m obsessed with this brand now (giggle).

Once again. Good job!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope to see you again on the next one!

Hard Candy vs L’Oreal Infallible!

These Hard Candy Eyeshadow caught my eye since it look a whole lot like the¬†L’Oreal Infallible eyeshadow. Both have the same in looks, shape and packaging. They look exactly alike right to tee. Amazing right!

In this post, I’d like to talk and see if Hard Candy could be a dupe for the L’Oreal Infallible.

So, I have sometime to play a little bit with them and would love to share my thoughts on these.

Here are some of the color eyeshadows that I’ve recently reviewed and if you want to read a full review, click here and here.

L’Oreal Infallible has 23 color ranges and Hard Candy has 10 pretty shades to add to your collections.

L’Oreal Infallible net weight for 3.5g and a slight difference of 0.3g less for Hard Candy. I love love these pressed shadows. Very easy to blend formula whilst amazing color payoff. Such beautiful eyeshadows. L’Oreal claimed that for 24 hours longevity but I don’t usually wear my makeup overnight. So, I can’t tell if the claim was true since I didn’t test it for that long duration but one thing for sure is that I don’t see any fall out and they lasted for more 10 hours without fading on me.

Okay, next the conclusion whether or not Hard Candy is a dupe for the L’Oreal infallible eyeshadow? I find that they just as good as the color payoff,¬†they last just as long. ¬†the only difference¬†is that the L’Oreal Infallible is slightly¬†more foil metallic finish and¬†that’s the only difference that I’ve found between these beside the weight which I just mentioned earlier in this post.

Should you spend $10.99¬†for the L’Oreal Infallible or the Hard Candy two for¬†$5.98? By all means go with the Hard Candy two for $5.98. They’re absolutely amazing! Yes, I do love the L’Oreal Infallible eyeshadow and will probably purchase them but I’ll get all of the Hard Candy Duo eyeshadows.

So, those are my thoughts and I hope you find them helpful.

Which is your next to reach for eyeshadow? Make sure to leave your comments down below. I love reading your comments.

Thank you very much for stopping by <3.

Friday Makeup Haul

beauty haul joe fresh

Many of you may not know this brand, but Joe Fresh is a fashion brand and retail chain created for Canadian Food Distributor, Loblaws Ltd. Joe Fresh has also entered the American market with permanent and pop-up stores in New York City and region, with JC Penney store outlets throughout the United States.
I tagged along with my honey bear to do our weekly grocery shopping, and as I was browsing at the makeup section and doing some makeup swatches, yes that sounds crazy and no joke that’s the life of a makeup lover. Anyways, long story short, I heard many good things about Joe Fresh products and needless to say I walked away with several interesting beauty haul which I’m excited to share them in my post. So, let’s get rolling:-

DSC03291

First item I picked up¬†is this Eye and Lip Palette by Joe Fresh because of its neutral earthy shadows topped with super cool¬†packaging! I really like this simple but yet sturdy plastic¬†packaging. The¬†packaging doesn’t look cheap but rather expensive looking. The shade I got is in Bronze Age and the shadows are in Gold (shimmer), ¬†Bronze (shimmer) and Dark Brown (matte) finish. It comes with a bright orangey lipstick and an eyeshadow brush. I’ll do a color swatch and review on my next post. This palette retails for $12.00

DSC03294

On a whim, I also pick up this Nail Polish in Maple. Net wt: 0.2 fl oz – for $1.94 and it was on special, so I justify myself to get it. The packaging is of¬†cylindrical with a white plastic top. The lid is slightly larger than the bottle length. They are so amazing! Color goes on next to opaque. A full review coming up once I’ve tried it. I really really like this color. Oh, so pretty! It has a very nice selection of colors to choose.

DSC03298

I also got this¬†2 in 1 Concealer Cream Stick retails for $8.00 and I’m just curious to try this one out. I got mine¬†in the shade Dark but it doesn’t look so dark from the stick. Anyways, I’m excited to try this out too. I’m going to open it right now :P. It comes in a twist stick pencil packaging and the texture is super amazing. It’s soft and it glide so well without having the feeling of it dragging whatsoever. Judging from the look of this concealer stick I personally think that it’s a little steep for a 0.07 fl oz net wt but I’ll report back the quality and performance once I’ve tried it if the value and quality are on par.

DSC03302

Next is this Eyeshadow Duo in Honeybell and Apricot. Again, I was blown away by the packaging. The packaging is made of clear plastic polycarbonate material which looks like a glass packaging. It doesn’t look like the drugstore plastic packaging we often see at the drugstores. Highly pigmented and it blends¬†super amazingly. The texture is soft and smooth and no fallout. It has a soft dewy finish and these shades are very versatile.

DSC03309

I got this single Eyeshadow in Petrol – a blue spruce undertone with micro-glitters. Net wt: 0.08 fl oz for $5.00. It comes in a sturdy clear plastic packaging. I’ve been planning on doing a single eyeshadow makeup look and this shade will be perfect to make my brown¬†eyes look more pop. Full eye makeup tutorial with review on my next post. Don’t forget to check back later ūüôā

DSC03314

Many of you know that I don’t wear false lashes and well that’s about to¬†change. Since I was at the Joe Fresh makeup section long enough, everything seems more appealing and I spotted this Lash Adhesive for $4.00 and told myself that now I don’t have any excuse not to. So, this is going to be my first time ever to try wearing a false eyelashes and I’m super nervous.

DSC03305

Lastly is a random product I saw in the liquidation box and it’s the L’oreal HiP (high intensity pigments) Bright Shadow Duo in Brazen. The color tone is of Dark Rose and Dark Brown and both shadows are matte finish. These shades look pretty to wear for evening wear. Comes in 5 high-flying combos. It’s ultra pigmented and the color intensity is amazing.

That’s it on my makeup haul for this month. So, I’ll say that these products are incredible for the price with good quality. For the price, the quality and the pigmentations, you can never go wrong. I’m so so glad to find these products by Joe Fresh. I’ll definitely be getting more of this brand to share in my next several posts. I must say that the price is affordable and the quality is impressively good.

I’m all about good deals when it comes to beauty on a budget and if you are in Canada go and check this brand out at the Superstores or if you have friends living in Canada, ask them to get it for you or order online.

Have you tried these lovely products? Let me know what you thought on the comment section below!

Thank you for taking the time to read.

Makeup Challenge|Rules To Break

Hey beauties,

I hope you remember that I posted a 5 Makeup Rules to Break previously and today.¬†Last week, my beauty friend, Ingrid and I did a one eyeshadow makeup challenge and we have so much fun doing it.¬†If you haven’t follow¬†Ingrid¬†from Curlyspringblossom beauty blog, please give her a follow. She has beautiful blog, funny and has good personality.

Did I mentioned fun? Okay … yes .that was a fun and interesting challenge we had on¬†the¬†one eyeshadow makeup look. We both have to try to break the 5 makeup rules and create the design look of our own. I did a post on it. Hit here to read more.

I have to confess that this one makeup rule is quite a challenge by itself. I’m so used of using 2-3 shades for my eye makeup and long story short, it’s not easy to apply one eyeshadow color and still looking like a¬†drop-dead¬†gorgeous runway model.¬†In case you want to know – this is how I did mine.

nyx eyeshadow palette

I’m using my old time favorite NYX eyeshadow palette. I did a review on this palette a while ago and if you are interested to read more, here is the link. This palette has beautiful vibrant shades for¬†spring & summer. Although I have to admit that summer¬†is¬†overdue, I still going to pull¬†out this¬†punchy¬†orange for today’s eye look.

orange shade shadow

I love all the colors in this palette. The texture is smooth and nicely pigmented. Great color payoff, a little goes a long way, I tell you. This is a drugstore matte finish eyeshadows which is affordable and packed with bright colors.

one shadow look

Since this is a one eyeshadow makeup challenge Рthere is only one step of blending actually. I apply the Orange shadow for the lid, crease and under my eyes. I put more effort and time to blend them in order to decrease the hard lines. No highlighter nor eye primer used.

one eyeshadow look

Next, I finish it by using a kohl eyeliner from Annabelle and white liner from Essence to make my eyes more pop. Lastly, the finishing touch with Lash Blast mascara by Covergirl for lashes.

It’s fun to do beauty challenge and if you want to do my next challenge from the list, please leave your comments below.

So, what do you guys think of this one eyeshadow makeup challenge look? Will you try them too?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read.

3 Winged Eyeliner Look

Hey guys! It’s Thursday¬†already and weekend is just around the corner.¬†¬†As I was watching some youtubers¬†talking about their makeup tips. I thought of doing a look which I wanted to do for a long time. There are many sorts of way people use to make a winged eye look¬†but I’m¬†going to share with you my way of doing¬†this 3 winged¬†eye look.¬†Below are the 3 steps which I used to¬†create a perfect¬† and lovely 3 winged eyelooks. Today, is all about 3 – 3 winged eyes, 3 steps and¬†3 makeup products only.

marcelle eyelinerMarcelle makeup

Marcelle Kajal Khol eyeliner in Blackest Black (Net wt: 0.08 oz)

Marcelle Eyeshadow Quad in Jungle Fever (Net wt: 0.16 oz)

Essence Long Lasting eyeliner in 05,¬†C’est La View (Net wt:0.01 oz)

1st step (11)

1st step (12)

I started by applying my eye concealer on top of the entire eyelid and under my eyes to conceal the dark circles under my eyes.

Step 1: Apply using the liner along the upper and lower lash line to form the outer corner. Start to glide it from the inner corner, and making it to the outer corner with a thin line stroke. I tried making the line thicker at the outer corner.

1st step (13)

Step 2: Repeat the same step as above. Start from inner corner to outer corner and near to the lash lines. I did a reversed winged liner method in order to form 2 winged eyeliners. Clean uneven edges or mistake with Q-tips.

1st step (15)

1st step (22)

I use the long lasting eyeliner under my eyes by following the lower liner in step 2. This is to make my eyes looks more pop. That’s the 2 winged eyeliner look and we finished the two steps.

1st step (31)

Step 3: By using the Jungle Fever eyeshadow, I apply the darkest green shadow on the eyelids and then pull the shadow longer to the outer corners. For a more daring look, I blend 2-3 times the darkest green on and the effect is a Wwwow!

1st step (38)

So, there you have it. An easy steps to create a 3 winged eyeliner look which is alluring, sultry and bold look.

1st step (36)

I like this look and plan to wear them with a sorcerer costume and I’m ready for this Halloween.¬†This is an intense and dramatic look that sure will make some heads turning. For next neutral winged eyeliner look, I’ll have it in my next blog. Please thumbs up if you like to see me do it ūüôā

What type of winged eyeliner style have you tried? Please comment below.

As usual, thank you so much for reading.

Maybelline NY Color Tattoo cream gel shadow ~ Painted Purple (No.20)

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 hr

Purple eyeshadow? Anyone? Well, I always ended up choosing purple color eyeshadows everytime I shop. Purple seems to attract my attention more somehow. So, I got drawn to get this painted purple in No. 20. I must have this lovely vibrant cream gel shadow to my collections.  Color choice is a little bit limited. There were only 6 color shades to choose from.

What so special about this Color Tattoo is that it claimed to last for 24 hours. I wore it just by itself¬†for 8 hours and it does live to its claim¬†to be¬†long lasting.¬†It is not recommended to wear any eye makeup or cosmetic to sleep –¬†in my opinion. So, the 24 hours long lasting claim¬†is a bit of a stretch. I have to use more eye remover to clean¬†them.

I like the creamy and smooth texture of this product. It blends so easily and without creasing and the best thing is that I can use my fingertips for even blending. The price is  very affordable for the value of this product. The packaging makes it looks trendy and pretty.

So, for those who feels the need to wear something for a long lasting period of time, then I would recommend it simply because it lasts.

Has anyone of you have a favorite color eyeshadow that caught your very eyes everytime you shop for makeup?

Cheers!
