Hell Yay! Eyeshadow To Buy

But chances are, you’ve heard of it.

covergirl for blue eyes

Yes, it’s the Covergirl drugstore eyeshadow¬†which I happened to pick recently¬†at the Dollar store. I usually past by Covergirl eyeshadows but not this time. I was drawn¬†first to¬†the price and second the pretty colors. When can you get a Covergirl eye brightening¬†eyeshadow palette for only $3.00, right!

I wear shadow almost everyday¬†and¬†I’ll usually opt for neutral tones but I also love to try different shades for a change. You could revisit the previous post by clicking¬†the link here.

Anyways, let’s talk about¬†this Covergirl Exact Eyelights Quad. So the shades I tried, green and blue are quite forgiving on my brown eyes. It’s designed¬†to make your eye look good from day to night.

The bonus is I got an extra Covergirl regular size brush that comes with this eyeshadow. Just junk the sponge applicator in the trash and use your eyeshadow blending brush instead. I love the fact that this brush really works. YAY!

Left to Right: Blue, Green, Peach, Champagne

I only have this one shade to show you, which is Radiant Blues, and¬†I enjoyed this¬†quite a bit. Nice color selection in a small palette¬†which I like on myself. I figured it’s sheer enough to let your natural blue¬†eyes looks more popped.

Again, I’m no shadow expert, but I’d say that’s some pretty good colour payoff. And just look at that blue! So pretty. Color swatch without eye base or primer on bare arm. I picked these shadows directly from the pan when¬†swatching. Note to remember, this picture couldn’t do it justice but if you like to¬†get more¬†intense colors with these shadows, try with eye primer on.

As for the feel, it’s smooth to touch with¬†nice pigments on.

But what about how it actually wears?

So like I said, nothing groundbreaking here, just an easy-to-apply product that feels great and looks even better!¬†If you’re looking for a drugstore or high street brand to test out some shadows, I’d say go for it quickly for¬†this product seems to have been discontinued and replaced by the new shade (EYE ENHANCERS 4-KIT SHADOWS) and packaging. But never fear, the closest shade I found¬†is the¬†“Tropical Fusion” 4-kit shadows for blue¬†eyes, babes.

What are your current favourite budget beauty products?

Thank you for taking the time to read. Hope to see you all again on the next one. In the meantime, stay BEAUTIFUL!

The More You Have, The More You Need!

Dollar Store Mini Haul

So after my obsession with eyeshadow palettes as many of you who knows me by now my craving for eyeshadows have gone to an insane height. My eyeshadow collection is confirmed full as last weekend but yet, just a few days ago I was happily stashing in a few more palettes from the Dollar Store. Here I’ve rounded up five products that are perfect for the Holiday season. Best of all, they won’t break the bank. Each product is less than $5.

Well, one thing I know is that I love trying new products and very excited every time when I’m¬†sharing my thoughts and opinion with all of you.

I have these five products which I just picked up yesterday. I’m excited so¬†let’s just get started.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Cover Girl Exact Eyelight for blue eyes

I have this Exact Eyelight Quad Eyeshadow for Blue Eyes by Covergirl. This is Quad shadows comes in a standard clear plastic drugstore packaging with a sponge tip applicator. To my surprise it even has an eyeshadow brush together in the box. For $3.00 you get the quad eyeshadow with a decent size eyeshadow brush.

There are four nice eyeshadows and I apologized that you’re only seen three. The last shade was hidden and it’s a Navy blue. All the shades are average and I noticed that only the first two lighter colors have high pigmentation while the Green and Navy Blue feels drier and low color payoff. They’re not pigmented at all and the colors just doesn’t cut it.¬†I wanted to mention. I’m disappointed with the formula but¬†I’ll continue trying them and will give my final verdict on my next post.

Christmas Greeting Cards

I’d be lying if I said I’m not excited with the coming holiday season.¬†Christmas is the time of sharing and giving and I just love the¬†atmosphere and the holiday decorations. It’s the best¬†season¬†of¬†all and¬†I’ll be busy mailing Season Greeting cards to family and friends. I still love sending cards by mail than e-cards. Maybe, that’s just me. If you love to get a card from me, you can pm me your address ūüôā

Mariposa Metallic Chic Eyeshadow Palette

I’ve said before¬†and I’m going to say it again that eyeshadow palette¬†is my favorite topic to talk about. When I saw this Mariposa Metallic Chic Eyeshadow Palette at Dollar Store, my jaw almost drop. Unbelievable! $3.00 for twelve eyeshadows is seriously a non-brainer. But, I don’t care since I got to try something new from this brand¬†again.

There are two other shades available and¬†since I’m planning to do some¬†holiday season makeup look with metallic shadows, I dive in immediately to grab it. I like the color selections and the color placements in this palette. But one visible downside I notice would be the narrow color pan. I tried using a different brush but still I think using your¬†pinky or a small flat brush works better to pick up the shadows. Another point to mention is the size of the products are decent and all could work for a glam¬†look.

OPI Schnapps Out Of It! Nail Polish
OPI Schnapps Out Of It! Nail Polish

This shade just speaks to me and I got it for it looks so pretty in the bottle. Regular drugstore price is $9.95 and I got it at Dollar Store for $3.00. I’m not regretting purchasing it.¬†Schnapps Out Of It! is described by OPI as mauve. It reminds me more of a rosy terra cotta kind of shade.¬†There is also a hidden silver shimmer, it’s not very obvious on the nail…even in the sun. The formula is really really great, if you like it, you can go with¬†1 coater¬†and¬†if you’re loving this shade then 2 coats would be¬†AWESOME!

Not for everyone but if you are willing to try something different, it’s a good pick. You may share your color obsession with OPI on their facebook or twitter.

Covergirl Natureluxe Silky Foundation

CoverGirl Natureluxe Silky Foundation for $3.00 with net wt: 1 fl oz. The shade I have is in 315 Bamboo. This shade is a good¬†match for my light-medium skin toned. Note of caution -this product has a slight scents of jojoba extract and cucumber water. It has a medium coverage and¬†it feels¬†lightweight on skin. I’m excited to try this and will share my review in the next post.

What are some items you have hauled recently and are super excited to try? I‚Äôd love to know. Don’t forget to leave your comments down below.

Thank you for taking the time to read.

Wet n Wild Nourishes Lashes |Cruelty Free Mascara

wnw mascara

I got this Wet n Wild Nourishes Lashes Mascara more on a whim kind of thing. I got this in Very Black for $3.00 from my local Dollar store. I was  surprised that they carry Wet n Wild product brand and so I was sold by the excitement of seeing Wet n Wild brand.

DSC01557

Frankly speaking, I’m more intrigued by the ingredients used in this mascara than the ¬†appearance results itself. This mascara has soy and wheat which are fortified with protein and enriched with acai oil to condition your lashes. No wonder it’s also called Mega Protein which make a whole lot of sense here.

I notice that this the packaging looks similar to the Covergirl Lashblast Volume mascara. It comes in a plastic-y material and the brush is simple and straight with just some short bristles on. It looks like a brush that can separate your lashes nicely.

DSC01559

When it comes to mascara, I’m pretty”basic” and I’m not ashamed to admit it.¬†I require only four things:

That it doesn’t clump.
Does it darken?
Does it lengthen?
Is it cheap?

So, let’s see if¬†this Nourishes¬†Lashes mascara by Wet n Wild able to rock my lashes?

DSC01561

This Mega Protein mascara claim to nourish and condition your lashes and helps make them fuller and thicker naturally. Well, I just tried it and I’ll continue to use it and will report back the results once I see¬†my lashes improves in volume after using it.

DSC01566

So, for my¬†first impression review, I’ll say that¬†this mascara has passed the test. It’s only $3.00 (score!). On application and vision (refer to pic above), I do see my lashes look both darker and a little longer and if I remove the excess, it doesn’t clump. The good thing about this mascara is that doesn’t¬†flake or¬†clump up, which could be a nightmare for many. One point to note is¬†that this mascara has water element as part of¬†the ingredient. Therefore,¬†it’s¬†not a waterproof mascara.

For you who is looking for a protein enriched mascara,¬†this one’s for you! :p It’s also cruelty and paraben free. Overall, I love the fact that the¬†ingredients used are natural and that it helps condition eyelashes. It’s too soon for me to give this mascara the¬†quality ratings if it actually perform as claimed but one thing I can be sure of is that if you’re looking for a cruelty free mascara with basic expectation, then you’ll like it ūüôā

What do you think of this Wet n Wild mascara? Have you tried any Mega mascara, if yes which one? Don’t forget to leave your comment below.

Thank you for taking the time to read.

Dollar Store Makeup Haul |Series #2

Hey guys!

Today, I wanted to talk about my yet another interesting and fun finds at my local dollar store or similar to dollar tree store. I got many requests to do another post and here I am hauling as many products from the dollar store to share my post with you guys.

DSC00320

This is what I picked up from the dollar store and since Easter is just in week. I was excited to be picking some Easter treats for the children. So, I got the Easter eggs, chocolates, stickers and gift bags together with color paint for my son to do his art drawings. Whereas for myself, I picked a facial mask, L.A. Colors makeup, elf eyeliner and a death sea revitalizing cream.  Okay, that should covers everything.

dollar store

Dang! I forgot to put this BB cream in the group picture. But anyways, finally reunited with all other makeup haul.

I’ve heard from some bloggers’ treading that L.A. Colors is going be a permanent line at Target. I’ve seen this L.A. Colors at my dollar store and I thought of sharing what I think about this brand which will be going to Target. Frankly speaking, I haven’t the least idea how good the quality of L.A. Colors since I don’t shop for¬†makeup products at dollar store/dollar tree store but this time¬†it’s an exception.

Here are the makeup products from my haul, so let’s roll.

l.a. color eyeliner

First thing first, I got this L.A. Colors Liquid Eyeliner in Black. Net wt: 0.22 fl oz for $1.25

It has an ultra fine applicator that works nicely on lash line. If you have tried Elf liquid eyeliner and like it then you will like this one too. It’s not waterproof but it holds on pretty well for that price. The liner glides with the liquid formula and it’s not messy or hard to apply.¬†It takes about 2 mins to dry up.¬†I think this is a decent¬†eyeliner¬†for those who just starter doing makeup. The price is right and a decent quality to practice eye lining.

l a colors

L.A Colors Lip Color in Cherry Red. Net wt: 0.11 oz for $1.25.

This comes in several shades but I picked this cherry red lip color instead. It says here on the packaging that this lip¬†color –¬†moisturizes with Vitamin E and Aloe Vera. I smell a nice slight of fruity scents but not overpowering. It glides beautifully and oh my, I’m truly impressed with this lip color. It’s so pigmented and creamy. Love it. Furthermore, it’s gives a velvety¬†finish which is so lovely. This lip color is not gunky or sticky at all. It has long wearing power. I’ve tried i and going to grab a few shades for the¬†next round at the dollar store. You can also find it at Target. Look for L.A. brand ūüėÄ

bb cream

BB Cream 2 in 1 Tinted Cream in medium shade. Net wt: 1. fl oz for $1.25

I saw a Light shade and Medium but not the darker shade. So, I cannot confirm if they have a darker tone for this BB cream since different dollar store might have some different inventories at times. This tinted cream reminds me of the Olay BB cream I picked up not too long ago. I did a post on the BB cream recently. Hit here to get you back to the link. On swatch this formula is light and not thick at all. I notice that this shade has a pinkish cool undertone. It¬†smells very nice and the formula is so moisturizing. Okay… I’ll leave it for later review … it will be more fun that wayyyyyyy…

elf eyeliner

I also have in my dollar store bag this cute little eyeliner by elf. I got it in Black. Net wt: 0.17 fl oz for $1.50

This is a nice liquid eyeliner with a fine tip applicator. It makes creating the lining super easy and fast. It dries up quick and glides incredibly well. For beginners, I suggest¬†using elf ¬†liquid¬†eyeliner instead of paying for the big buck, I do recommend that you invest in this first. It works and for me that’s what matters.

moisturizing cream

Luxury Care (LC) Moisturizing and Revitalizing Cream with Vitamin E and Dead Sea Minerals. Net wt: 1.69 fl oz for $3.00 a jar.

Dead Sea Minerals – I was like doing a double take when I saw¬†the printed words on the packaging. Okay, I’m always curious of the Dead Sea scrolls and dead sea minerals make my curiosity grew to 110%. I’ve never heard of this LC in my entire life and I’m super sceptical to even apply it on my skin but after reading the ingredients that contains water, extract fruits, kernel oil and shear butter with other ingredients I feel more confident in trying it out. Honestly, skin care products – I prefer to¬†go to the professionals or the high end store but never at Dollar store.

Anyways, I did try it and this is what I think. First of all, this moisturizing cream smells amazing. It’s cooling and it’s very light on skin. It blends and absorbs quickly while leaving skin moisturized. I’ve wore it for the whole day and so far so good. I’m scare of formula that causes breaksout (ok, doesn’t anybody?) but whew… the cream feels comfortable actually.¬†Well, I may use or may not use it in the long run but here is what I think from my perspective. For only $3.00 I’ll say go for it girl if you can find it at your¬†dollar store. I think it is a good product to try. Did I also mention that it’s cruelty free? Made in Israel.

eurospa mask

Eurospa Facial Mask Skin Brightening Vitamin E in Pearl. Net wt: 15 ml for $1.00

I saw some other mask that were selling for $1.99 at drugstores and at the dollar store it’s only $1.00. I’ll check if it’s legit once I’ve mask myself with this beautiful pearl. The packaging looks so inviting . Oh dang!!! I wanted to wear it now but I can’t since I’ll be going out in less than 10 minutes.¬†¬†Anyways, I will share my 2 cents in my next post wearing this white mask (he!he!he!) in my next post. On the packaging it claims to help tone and rejuvenate complexion, clear blemishes, minimise pores and enhance blood circulation. Okay, all that you¬†need is in one sachet. Pretty cool and for a buck … I’ll probably be hopping over to the dollar store to grab a few more. By the way, this mask is Made in Korea in case you like to know ūüėÄ

l.a. eyeshadow

Last but not least is this L.A. Colors 12 Color Eyeshadow Palette in Traditional. Net wt: 0.49 oz  for $1.25

Okay… hold it right there. Behold this lovely and rich pigmented L.A. Colors eyeshadow palette. One word to say is that “I’m Impressed”. I was taken aback by the¬†pigmentation, the creamy texture and the shades are¬†so¬†incredible. Alright, the packaging is not the most adorable or cutest on the shelves but presentable. It comes in a plastic packaging with an applicator.

I learned¬†not to judge a book by its cover and I can tell you that this eyeshadow palette is awesome. I’ll be doing a review and makeup tutorial using this L.A. Colors palette. I can use all the shades in the palette and they’re beautiful. It gives a pretty¬†dewy¬†finish.

So, here are my thoughts and well my review on my dollar store haul and I hope you find them interesting and helpful. So, the next time you walk pass the L.A. Colors aisle at Target or Dollar store, stop by to say “hi”. Who knows, you might stumble upon some pretty awesome products with incredibly insane price where everything is less than $3.00.

Will you pick up L.A. Colors makeup products after having read this? Please leave comment below. I love to hear what you think.

Okay, don’t forget to check out my next post reviews from my dollar store makeup haul and until next time take care and stay beautiful.

As always, thanks for the love. I’ll check back with you guys tomorrow ūüôā
