NYX Wanderlust PARIS Photo, Swatches & Review

I dream of Paris! I’ve being reading and watching so many beautiful places in Paris that makes me dream of going there someday. So, don’t judge me okay, a girl has to what she has to do. That’s to DREAM!¬†

Putting my daydream aside, I found this nice set of NYX Wanderlust En Vie De Voyage collection at Marshalls not too long ago. I was there to get some home decor stuff for my living room but instead when I saw this palette, I knew I had to get it! It’s something about Paris that attracted me to it.

#NYXprofessionalmakeup

I checked on NYX’s website and it seems that from this line, there are seven other exciting colors and destinations to choose from. Available sets are in Copenhagen, Los Angeles, Paris, Madrid, London, Dubai and Vancouver. Roam around the world and capture the flair of your favorite city!

NYX Packaging

Long story short, I’ve the opportunity to test them out a couple of times over the past few days before I pen down in writing my thoughts about this palette. The packaging is sturdy and nice. The size is like a small tablet which makes it convenient to bring for travelling. I love that it comes with a good size mirror and a lip cream. That’s genius!

This set houses 4 matte shades and 4 shimmer shadows which is really nice and it ends there. I noticed the matte shades are a little dry and more difficult to blend while the shimmers are more creamy and easier to work on.

Wanderlust Paris set

Don’t get me wrong, I really like the color selection but the pigmentation is just not there for many. I think they’re really pretty! And they’re great colors for your no makeup makeup day.

I didn’t find the pigmentation of these shadows to wow me at all. The mattes are pretty dry and powdery which is the downside. It’s not the greatest I’ve tried from this brand. I expect for more punch on the pigmentation and color payoff in this palette but it just didn’t deliver. To be honest, I was a little disappointed.

NYX eyeshadow swatches
1st row

What actually throws me off was the formula. The matte shadows are really dry and not as pigmented as I’d love it to be. Among the four color swatches here, the brown is the better one if I’ve to do a transition color while the other three just didn’t cut it. I don’t know if I got an old stock but I like to know in the comment below if any of you has¬† better luck and results with this palette.

NYX wanderlust eyeshadow swatches
2nd row

You can see from this swatches that the 2nd row shadows are somewhat better compared to the first one. I can say that my favorite is the copper and mid-brown shadows. They blend quite well and I got to admit that I do like the nice pigmentation of theses two shades.

Let’s move on to what I really love.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

Let’s just say the star of the show though is the Soft Matte Lip Cream. I love love it! It’s matte and it’s soft on the lips which I really appreciate. I also notice that it feels lightweight and as if I’m not having anything on my lips at all. Did I mentioned that it glides like a dream too. I’m not going to put it away anytime soon. It’s such a pretty color for spring!

Closed up applicator

I really like this doe foot applicator. I only need just on dab to get the products for my lips. The texture is creamy, feels really feather light and so comfortable on the lips. This lip cream has a good lasting power. Amazing pigmentation that’s smooth and free of smudging. It’s a beautiful pink color for spring or any pinkalicious fans out there!

Lip cream swatch #NYX

I can’t complain too much since I’ve only paid CAN$6.99 for this and yes that’s a hack of a great price. You’re getting ten shadows and I know that the soft matte lip cream alone is US$7.00 so you do the math. I do like the lip cream a lot but¬† not the formula of these eyeshadows and if that’s not a big deal to you then you’ll like this.¬†But for me, I wouldn’t purchase another Wanderlust set even though I’m happy I got that beautiful lip cream.

I can only talk about this set since I haven’t tried the rest from this collection, so I’d love to hear your comment if you’ve tried them and which set works best for you.

Let me know if I should return this set in the comment below.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hear me rant. Hopefully, my next post will be of a more positive note and in the meantime, don’t forget to check out my previous blog post.¬† Until next time, have a wonderful day!

Sharon xoxo

Megaglo wet n wild .jpg

First of all let’s start with the packaging. It comes in a simple Wet n Wild plastic compact packaging and it’s huge. I’m sure I’ll get a lot of use on this.

Cruelty free

There’s like a flower petal stamped onto it which I find really cute and the shade I got is in¬†Blossom Glow. It’s a new shade brought to you by Wet n Wild. The new shades are the Royal Calyx (lavender), Botanic Dream (pink), Blossom Glow (pale pink champagne), and Golden Flower Crown (yellow-gold) that currently joined the lineup of Precious Petals (peach) and Crown Of My Canopy (copper). Even better, each one is retails for CAD$6.99 which is so inexpensive for a drugstore brand and they’re cruelty free.

Swatch #Megaglo

I’m going to do a swatch here for you guys. OMG! It’s so buttery and so soft. Blossom Glow is so pretty. It’s like a pale pink champagne color. I’m obsessed. This shade is totally something I’d wear on a daily basis. It’s pigmented and yet blend so well. I’m pretty impressed and loving the formula already. When you swirl it around with your fingers, it just feels like butter and so soft on the pan.¬†¬†I love it and have high hopes on it. So I’m excited that it work.

Here’s a close-up of the shade Blossom Glow.

Blinding

It actually looks like a glow rather than chunks of glitters.¬†It comes out on my skin tone as an irridescent pink.¬†It’s so pretty, my highlight is popping girls! I’m obsessed!

Overall, here’s what I’ve to say about this product. I love the glow it gives to the skin. This is an amazing highlighter especially for the price.¬†I highly recommend this to my friends!

Let me know if there’s any new products that I missed. I was on the hunt for like brand new launches for spring.

Pixi Beauty Cruelty Free Makeup

Hey everyone! I can’t believe we’re already in the month of February. It’s insane how fast time swoosh by! Or is it just me!

Anyways, in today’s post I just want to do a quick mention of the cruelty free products that doing a come back. While I’ve to admit that I’m not 100% clean or cruelty free but 2018 is a mark for me to put a conscious effort to make it happen with baby steps. So without further ado, let’s jump right in.PixibyPetraPixi by Petra is a cruelty free makeup brand that I’ve known since the beginning of my blogging days and here are products that keeps me going back.

Pixi Beauty Bronzer
Beauty Bronzer + Kabuki – $24.00

I’ve¬†Pixi Beauty Bronzer in the shade Summertime and it’s the most beautiful color tan for my light-medium skin toned. I’m a matte kind of girl when it comes to bronzer, so this formula is just right up my alley.

The natural mineral formula is infused with vitamin E and mica, product ingredients that will make your cheeks looking flawless and silky fresh as you wear it. Buff it where you naturally tan and you’re good to go. I really appreciate how light it is for winter use but can also be built up to be suitable for summer.Pixi Beauty BronzerThe pigmentation is incredible and it on the cheek for a surprisingly long time. With their sleek and travel friendly packaging set, you’re going to fall head over heels for it!¬†¬†By the way, did I mentioned it smells amazing! And if you’re on the market for a subtle glow bronzer that’s not shinning then you’re going to like this set. Grab your¬†set today!Kabuki brushIt comes with a good size Kabuki Brush like so.¬†What is a kabuki brush anyway you might asked? The answer I got from google search is “the brush is named after the Kabuki Japanese drama theater, where, ironically,¬†male¬†actors wear¬†KeshŇć, a very heavy makeup made of white rice powder.”

Today, however, the word ‚Äúkabuki‚ÄĚ is used to describe a variety of makeup brushes, whether they have squat or long handles, real or synthetic hair, or rounded or flat tops.Pixi Kabuki BrushThe synthetic fiber brush wasn’t too dense nor to soft. It tapered on both sides for precise blending. It’s suitable for applying powder evenly over your face with thinly. You don’t have to splurge on some expensive Hakuhodo Brush USA if you don’t want to. For me, this one did an awesome job just like any kabuki brush.¬†It’s my new favorite and I hope they’ll never stop making it!Pixi Beauty Eyeshadow PalettesMoving on I got two¬†Mesmerizing Mineral Palettes in the shade Mineral Contour and Copper Peach that I’ve been dying to share their color swatches for your guys.

Mineral Contour Eyeshadow Palette
Mineral Contour Palette $12-$14

This is a new palette I picked up from Shoppers Drug Mart the other day to add to my ever growing Pixi Beauty collection. It features six earthy tones from frosty white to the darkest charcoal grey shades eyeshadow in complementing colors. Complete with a dual-ended sponge tip brush.

Mineral Contour PaletteAll the shades are soft to the touch, it feels creamy and easy to blend. They’re also just a little powdery but I wouldn’t be overly concern about it. I noticed the pigmentation to be not very consistent especially the frosted white compares to the champagne beige. I’m not sure if I got a bad batch but here’s the color swatch up closed.

From Left to Right:

  • Charcoal Grey
  • Bronze Brown
  • Champagne Beige – is my favorite shade of the bunch
  • Light Taupe
  • Cream – this shade turns out very closed to my skin tone but it’s a great color as a transition shade
  • Frosted White
Copper Peach Palette
Copper Peach Palette

I did a review a few years back when I was first introduced to Pixi Beauty. So, I’m not going to go into great length but instead I’ll have the link here if you like to read more about it.Copper Peach swatchesThis palette contains peach, bronze and russet shades, which I really enjoy as I really only wear neutral eye looks most of the time.

From Left to Right:

  • Dark Bronze Shimmer
  • Copper Shimmer
  • Peachy Shimmer
  • Matte Brown
  • Bronze
  • Champagne

Of the two, this has to be my favorite palette. The dark bronze and copper shades are what I use for everyday wear. They super easy to apply and blend away. I love how my makeup stay fresh all day with these creamy formulas. I’ve got only good things to say about this product and the brand.

If you haven’t tried any products from Pixi, I urge you to check out their website or head over to the nearest drugstore, because they got you covered!

I hope this post will help you kick start your search. Let me know if you guys found this useful!

BECCA Glow On The Go – Hit or Miss!

Hey guys! I’m super excited to bring you my take on this Becca Glow On The Go products that I’ve been testing and have been reaching out over this summer. You guys know that I’m trying out products constantly so if something goes in this post you know it got to be good.

So you asked: What is truly worth that kind of price for a high end product?

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I thought long and hard and I find this Becca Glow On The Go to be the best fit for today’s post. I wanted it to be a thing that has the greatest probablity to working across the board no matter who you are. I wanted it to be something universal if you know what I mean.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Standard Size C$50

I’m going to kick this off with the Shimmering Skin Perfector Sportlight Opal.¬†Available in seven shades at any Sephora near you.

I’m all about natural glow looking skin and when I was first introduced to this highlighter, I was over the moon. This may look like a typical tube highlighter but what this is going to do is to give your skin so much more.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

It comes in a tube packaging with a doe foot applicator. What I love most is the consistency of this formula. It’s neither too runny nor too thick in texture. I find it to be so easy to blend and spread on areas of my skin I want highlighted.

becca-color-swatch.jpg

The shade Opal is described as golden peach pearl which is so pretty. It’s says “to be the best selling and most flattering on all skin tones.” I’m very pleased with the subtle and natural looking finish that Becca gives. A beautiful glow to the skin that’s not too shimmery at all.

Even though these are small size it still has plenty of product. This set is a great way to try BECCA‚Äôs highlighters without committing to a full-sized one.¬†But in my case, I’m running to the nearest Sephora to grab a full size.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Next is the Becca Shimmering Perfector Pressed in Opal is a finely milled illuminator that keeps skin looking incredibly lovely and luminous. Th color Opal can be described as a light-medium golden champagne pressed highlighter with a frosted finish. The formula is buttery soft and it glides on like a dream.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I’m a NC25 so this shade is a good fit for my skin tone. It gives a lovely touch of warmth that I really appreciate. I like to apply using my fingers instead of a brush when it comes to highlighter. I find it works best with fingers but it might just be me. You can use whichever method that floats your boat.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I really like this so if you’re just looking around for a natural glowing highlighter from a high end brand then definitely give it a try. If you know any dupes for a pressed highlighter, definitely comment below. I love to try it out.

Becca’s #1 Best Sellers¬†– C$24 at Sephora

Between the two highlighters, I honestly say that I’m loving the liquid ones better than the other. I like how the liquid highlighter applies and how effortless to buff out by tapping with fingers. The finishing look is phenomenal. I’m loving the natural looking glow that the Skin Spotlight gives.

Becca has the best highlighter and I couldn’t rave more except that you try it. I highly recommend Becca because they’re cruelty free!

I hope you enjoy my recommendation and find this post to be helpful for you guys. Thank you so much for taking your time to read. I really appreciate it.

Maison Jacynthe Naturally – Review & Photos

Many of you may have already know this, as a beauty blogger, a lot of companies will sent over new collections, new product my way so that I can try them out and potentially share them with you. And I’m very grateful for this because of course I wanted to create new contents all the time and share new products and it could be quite expensive if I’d have to do that all by my own.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This is a collaboration post where I partnered with Maison Jacynthe to make this post. It’s their new product collection which was launched not too long ago. I love natural products and I’ve been using their products on rotation for the last couple of months.

Alright, so let’s jump in.

Maison Jacynthe PR Samples
*Press Samples
Maison Jacynthe Liquid Foundation
Liquid Foundation

The first thing I got is the¬†Fluid Foundation Sable 02¬†and is retailed for a CAD$46 so it’s a pretty penny but so worth it. Available in 5 different colors to choose from.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I was very excited to test out this Fluide De Teint (Fluid Foundation) and it’s the same shade that I’m in powder foundation in Sable. This comes in a pump and all of their products are natural and vegan. So this is also cruelty free in case you’re wondering.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

My warning, is that a little goes a long way with this foundation. Start small!

The finish of the foundations is beautiful and they smell divinely good! It reminds me of BB cream formula in terms of consistency. It claims to hide skin imperfection with a natural finish which I agree with. It’s so easy to apply and buff it into skin. Love the natural and glowy looks it gives.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I’m quite impressed with the formula to be honest. I’ve combo to dry skin and this foundation makes my skin looks flawless. Not meaning to toot my own horn but I’ve been having good skin days for the past few weeks. I’m so happy this product doesn’t cause me any break out.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

It’s very sheer and lightweight foundation. You can built it up to a decent coverage but I wouldn’t say it going to give you medium to full coverage. If you’re looking for a medium to full coverage foundation, then this product is not for you. If you’re super oily, then you might want to set it with setting powder in order not to look super dewy or shinny. It has a decent staying power in terms of wearing it throughout the day.

Wearing fluid foundation by #Maison Jacynthe

It’s hot here with temperature standing at 28 celcius, it’s been quite humid over the past few days and so I find it works well with the weather and my skin situation when I applied setting powder to keep it from melt down. I’ve nothing bad to say about it and especially if you’re looking for a natural or cruelty free clean brand for a foundation. I do recommend it.

Maison Jacynthe Illuminator
Highlighter

The next product I want to talk about is this Highlighter in the shade 02 Pink Moon. I’ve been using this on my cheek, temples and as my brow bone highlight. It states that you can also apply it on the lips too.

It’s available in 2 colors and formulated with coffee and corn extracts, macadamia and apricot oil.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This is my summer highlight glow that I’m talking about. Look how pretty it is! So beautiful iridescent highlight. It’s a gold pink color that you buff it in on your cheeks. It matches your skin when you buffed it in and then set it with setting spray. It adds some moisture to it and¬†give you an immediate healthy looking skin.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Can we take a moment to take it all in. How gorgeously pigmented is this highlighter! It feels buttery and silky to touch.

Those are my thoughts as far as this product goes. The highlighter stays put all day without fading down which is awesome. All in all, this is good stuff.

Maison Jacynthe Vingt Deux
Perfume

Last but not least, is the Vingt Deux Roll Perfume. I hesitate to talk about perfume in my blog because they don’t usually do so well on readerships but if there’s anyone out there that’s like me reading my post, maybe you’ll like this blog. I’m addicted to watching perfume videos online. I like to research and I like discovering new perfumes and even though it’s not everyone’s favorite post to read but maybe there are people like me in the world, if you’re then this post is for you.

Maison Jacynthe recently came out with her new Vingt Deux perfume. This was sent to me. It comes in a long tube design packaging and with wooden top lid. I really love the scent of this perfume smell. I love floral and woody scent that works really well with my body chemistry.¬†It’s described as sensual, delightful and languorous. I’ve been wearing this non-stop. I feel like I’m walking in the country side and breathing in some fresh and beautiful woody scents. It’s therapeutic to my mind and soul. I’m loving it!

Thank you guys for always reading, please comment and subscribe. I hope you guys enjoyed hearing my opinion and seeing how these products works for me. I’ve some exciting things coming up, some fun stuff that I’ve been working on and I cant’ wait to show it to you. So, I’ll talk to you guys again a later post.

I hope you come to check on my social media down below. Make sure you are following me on Twitter and Instagram (@heysharonoox) for the latest update. In the meantime come and say hi!

Colourpop Box Unboxing 2

Hi guys, in this post I’m going to do a box unboxing. I received this box a week after Mother’s Day. Unfortunately, it¬†didn’t arrived on time but it’s better late than never.

Here is the video unboxing of Colourpop’s box series #2.

I didn’t open the box because I wanted to share the excitement with you guys. You will see the original state of the box and how it looks like in this video.

It comes in a white cardboard box and the print¬†on the side says “Made In LA”. ¬†And it’s opened up a nice flower design with the Colourpop name on it. There’s a insert Mother’s Day greeting card for me which is so lovely. My hubby and son knows that I love makeup so this was a great surprise.

pressed shadows

The first 3 products are the Colourpop Pressed Shadows. I got it in the shade Outta Luck, Top Notch and last one is Let Me Explain. These are the eyeshadows that drew me the most. I don’t remember having any of these pressed shadows from Colourpop before and so I’m very excited to try them out.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Next, is the Mini Ultra Satin Lip in the shade London Fog (a cool-toned blue red) and Dopey (a mid-toned dusty mauve). The full size Ultra Satin Lips retail for USD$6.00 each (the same as their Ultra Matte Lips).

This is a new alternative to the Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick. I love their ultra matte and this is another reason why I like this satin lipstick. Liquid lipsticks are one of my favorite beauty products of all time. In general, I love their intensity, their precision, and their long wear.

Some liquids¬†gives¬†bulletproof wear, meaning it can dry¬†out your lips but not these.¬†The big difference between Ultra Matte and Ultra Satin is that Ultra Satin doesn‚Äôt dry down to a completely matte finish.¬†It¬†doesn’t feel heavy, sticky, or even tacky, but you know they‚Äôre there. These are¬†extremely pigmented and sets to a comfortable satin finish. I really like¬†the shades of these two liquid lipsticks.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This was the best Mother’s Day gift bag that was gifted to me. Shout out to my hubby and son for choosing this awesome gift. I love everything in it. The swag bag is super cute!

Inside the Mother’s Day swag bag (limited edition) you got a Double Play Pressed Powder Blush & Highlighter, 2 Blotted Lip Lipsticks and an Eye liner. It was a super deal since they only paid $25 for all 4 items.

Which one do you like?

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

It’s¬†revolutionary! Say whaaat! That’s right! Colourpop created a new formula based off of their super shock technology that’s developed specifically for this face palette that will not dry out!

Double Play Pressed Powder Blush Face Duo is retailed for $16 on their website. The shade on the left is Getting Handsy which is described as a matte blush with warm nude undertone while the Padded Down is a pearlized highlighter in warm champagne undertone.

I’m super excited to give this a test run. I’ve heard some positive things about it so I’m curious to try it out myself. You guys know the drill – an upcoming post review with¬†color swatch coming up soon.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Next thing I got is their new range of lip products is the Blotted Lip Lipstick. I got the shade Sucker is a soft coral and Drip is described as a warm rosey mauve color lip.

As¬†I did the color swatches, I feel that¬†Colourpop Blottled Lip Lipsticks have the most unique texture I‚Äôve ever come across ‚Äď it combines the firmness of a wax crayon with the silky-smoothness of silicone. It has the cushiony softness that’s comfy to wear on lips. There’s no fragrant or scents at all.

One thing I noticed is that if you want a medium coverage, you need to swipe at least 2-¬†3x to get the opacity. I wear Drip¬†today for lunch at Bar B Barn¬†(I had BBQ chicken and fries) and I did a quick touch up before heading to Sephora. It was¬†a NO fuss touch up! I’m currently loving it.

The formula is my absolute favorite from Colourpop so far. If you’re like me and prefer minimal, natural, no-fuss makeup looks, I would definitely recommend picking up a few of these. Plus at $5 each, you can’t beat it!)

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Last but not least, is the Colourpop Creme Gel Liner in the color Brew -Haha and is described as a True black brown in a matte finish. I really like the color but the pencil keeps breaking on me. I’m not sure if I got a bad one because¬†the first I did the color swatch it broke, and¬†then when¬†I tried to use it again today, it kept breaking. I like the pencil but this one failed me. I don’t recommend this pencil liner to anyone until an improvement¬†is made to the formula.

Don’t forget to check on their website for their new Limited Edition Birthday Bag¬†Kit. It’s their 3rd year Anniversary, you guys! This is not a partnership or sponsor post¬†whatsoever, I’m just sharing¬†some love on the special deals.

Just a quick reminder that Colourpop hold the PETA badge of honour Beauty Without Bunnies.  This company is cruelty-free! It does NOT test on animals.

Have you tried¬†any of Colourpop makeup products¬†yet? What’s your favorite? Tell me everything down below!
