Forever 21 Makeup & Fashion Haul

Like most weekends, this one went way too fast. It seems like we’re always on the go, go, go.

Today’s post is a little different than my usual beauty post. I’m throwing in some new content and hope you’d like it. I’m going to talk about some makeup and fashion haul which I ordered online from¬†the Forever 21 website a few¬†weeks ago.

I’m super excited! So, let’s jump in.

Is that me or anybody else, that you feel every season calls for a shift in makeup, a small change that can make a big impact! In the summer, I tend to wear less makeup and need a little more in the cooler months. Leave in the comment your favorite fall colors.

Honestly, I’ve a thing with eyeshadow palettes and if you’ve been following me, you know that I’m freaking obsessed with them. I’ve to admit that I tend to gravitate to them the most.

Ok! Forever 21 Eye & Cheek Palette have my attention for $10.90.

Count me curious!

So, I got this in the shade¬†Natural/Multi Unique. They’re four quads with a blush in the palette.I really like the pretty¬†color selections and so fall like shades as we transition from summer to fall. I haven’t tried them yet but I’m very excited to try.

I’m going to play with¬†all these colors awesome shades and will shade a full detail review on the next one. I’m going to name my¬†EOTD to #eyesforfall.

Volumizing Mascara with Eyelash Enhancing Serum in Black. I always love a good mascara thaat doesn’t clumpy, smudge and flake, don’t you. I REALLY LIKE the tip of the brush applicator. You can go deep unto eyelashes when applying for best results. I’ve it today and I’m happy how it turns out. But more testing before I conclude my opinion on this product.

Floral Cosmetic Brush Set in Black/Multi. I ordered this because of the cute packaging of floral on these brushes. First time testing them out and I’ll sure to report back in my review post. They’re synthetic brush which I prefer more than natural hair brushes. I believe this is a special edition but couldn’t be¬†sure. Let me know if you’ve these brushes and comment if these are permanent feature.

Argan Oil Eyeshadow¬†Set in Brown/Natural. The texture is slightly rough to touch but the pigmentation is insanely amazing. I can’t get enough eyeshadow palette as you my know by now if you’ve been following m blog, I’m obsessed with palettes.

This palette looks promising and I’LL DEFINITELY be anxious to try it. It has a good color selection of neutral which I REALLY like.

Love & Beauty Ultimate Lipstick Set in Nude, Mauve and Red shades. I’m very excited to try out these ¬†pretty shades and will do post review soon. Love the cute packaging and the pretty colors.

Accessory РRhinesetone Bar Layered Necklace for $4.99.

Fashion Haul

I’ve been trying really hard to take pics of what I’m wearing lately, not that it’s amazing, but I love seeing what other women wear and how they style and restyle their wardrobes and pieces.

So here’s some of the style I came out with.

This cardigan is so soft and it’s the one from my Forever 21 haul.¬† It’s definitely too casual for work, but I’m glad I kept it for weekend. This jean is also soft and very comfortable. I actually got it from Zara. So happy that they got my size (smiley face emoji). I really like them and think they fit true to size, I want to get the black¬†color as well.

Most of the clothing I got is for fall and I can see myself wearing the cardigan and skinny jeans non-stop.

Classic V-Neck Cardigan in Heather Grey and¬†Super Skinny Jeans¬†from Zara. Very casual and I just love this simple design.¬†We went out to a friend’s¬†party and it was the perfect event for this outfit,¬†since it has started to¬†quickly¬†cool down at nights in September!

Ribbed Knitted Skater Dress in Navy. Love the cut of this skater dress. I could see myself pairing it with a black legging and knee high boots. Super sexy!

Quilted Asymmetrical Dress in White. It’s hard for me to find open shoulder dress that fit my broad chest. And I’m super pleased that this one fits nicely. It’s a little fancy dress I wore for an evening couple date with my hunny bear a few weeks ago. Conclusion, I’m so happy that I got this dress.¬†I love it! I really do ūüôā Can you tell?

So, that’s what I’ve been wearing during my leave while we’re out. Once we get home, I like to¬†change into my comfy sweatpants and a tee to chill out.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Happy Monday everyone, and have a great week! ūüôā

Hooked on Organic Body Wash

Hey everyone!

Over the years, I’ve become more aware of what I put on my skin and not to mention my body. As you might all been aware, the word¬†‘Organic’ has become a label that you see everywhere in the beauty world, and I started to see a shift in me where I notice¬†that I’m more¬†concerned about organic ingredients and well natural products.

Natural and organic products are only just starting to appear on ‘drugstore’ and supermarket shelves with a big bang. That’s why I’m so excited to¬†share my two cents opinion on this awesome organic body wash by Neolia that I’ve been reaching out for the last two weeks. This is the best organic body wash I’ve tried so far and I’m hooked.

Too good to be true! Read on to find out!

The fresh scents is divine and the formula so nourishing. The fragrance smell (my favorite aspect of this line as a whole) lingers on the skin, which is nice. It comes with a pump applicator which I really like.

This product helps to cleanse and moisturize your skin. It contains 100% organic extra virgin Italian olive oil and aloe vera. They’re free of animal ingredients, not tested on animals and biodegradable. Oh, did I also mention that it’s paraben free!

And the best part of all? You can find them in any drugstore and even Costco!

All in all, I’m really impressed by this¬†Neolia¬†line as a whole, especially considering that they’re¬†using organic ingredients.

What do you think of this product? Leave your comment below.

Thanks for stopping by.

Is Time Off a Part of Your Blogging Plan?

OMG you guys! I’m writing this post while sitting on a black leather¬†over-sized chair, listening to radio in my hotel room, and will¬†soon be heading out to¬†the beach after finishing this post. The¬†view is simply amazing, there is a gorgeous lake not far away from where we stay.

Frankly, I’m pretty stressed out about taking a two weeks off before school starts.

by source

Yes, I know … I should be stressed right now.¬†But I‚Äôm actually feeling okay about it ‚Äď things will work out, and I’m doing some of the most important work I’ll do all year. I‚Äôm taking some time off.

Running my own blog as a business or as a hobby requires intense amount of energy, forethought and foresight. It’s way too easy to wake-up to the laptop, instead of with a cup of¬†espresso coffee in the morning. Anyone else could relate?

I’ll be taking my weeks off from blogging but I’m not going to¬†sweat about it, I’ve already¬†scheduled a couple of Monday posts while I’m¬†gone and actually utilize my¬†trip for blog ideas! I will still¬†share ¬†pictures on Snapchat and¬†Instagram. And¬†if you haven’t subscribed to my blog or social media already, you might want to do so now.

Reason for taking a time off:

In fact, letting our minds off the hook, to wander, to experience, is actual a key ingredient of the creative process. If you are waiting for the next ‚Äúa-ha‚ÄĚ moment, whether it‚Äôs a new article idea, blog tagline or potential partner, your best bet is to chill for a bit and take your well deserve vacation.

If you’re¬†furiously trying to force out a new big idea, take it from me, and take a break. The world won‚Äôt end, I know my friends would understand.

How do you take time away from your blog? Have you ever taken a blog vacation? What worked (or what didn’t)? Tell me about it in the comment below. I love to hear what you think.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope I’ll see you guys again very soon. Bye!

Disappointing Product – Month of July

First blog of the week, huh! Actually what prompted me to do this post is my disappointment of these liquid foundations I got recently. I have a UK Beauty Haul coming up but I wanted to mention this first. I feel that it’s worth mentioning this upfront.

This is my first time trying out the foundation from Makeup Revolution London¬†and sad to say, I don’t like them. There! I’ve said it. Read more if you’re curious to know why …

While I was looking at some other makeup products to combine on shipping, I came across ¬†this The One Foundation¬†on the Makeup Revolution London website. So, I go ahead and I ordered a medium shade just to try it. Little did I know that I’m ordering two bottles for the price of one and it seems that I had also ordered another set but it was in a very¬†deep¬†shades.¬†I was beyond furious when I first saw these.

I’m going to talk about this product based on the way we’re going to use them! And this is no different when it comes to liquid foundation.

This foundation is almost like water in consistency and does not have any scents. I used my dam beauty blender to apply the first and two layers but this foundation in Shade 13 didn’t seems to do anything or even a slight sheer coverage on my skin. It’s like I’m not applying any product on my face at all. It just didn’t do anything!!!

Here are the four bottles of the One Foundation¬†by Makeup Revolution London that I’m going to pass it on to some friends who might appreciate the formula more than I do. The darker shades are Shade 14, 15 & 16 and they’re definitely not my shade at all. Even their Shade 13 was a little darker than I anticipated. I was hoping that it would work on my tan skin for this summer but after trying it for a few days, I don’t see myself reaching out for it or not at all.

Coming to the packaging, it is very sturdy and small in size which reminds me of the Mac Studio Face and Body Foundation, which makes it easier to carry it around with you. I did notice a little product does come out because of the runny consistency, but it remains on the nozzle of the packaging and does not spill out.

I really don’t like this formula at all. They’re much too runny to work on and difficult to built up to the desire coverage.

Basically, you’ve¬†to shake the bottle for 3-4 seconds before pouring them out. Since they’re so watery, I used the container from my¬†lipstick kit (pic inserted). It’s quite hard to work with the consistency of this foundation. I then dip the blender to take the product but much were absorb by the sponge than on face. And yes, I’ve using a sponge and it just soak up all the foundation. If you use a brush it is kind of difficult to get the product evenly distributed on the skin and neither using fingers helps. It’s too runny to hold up water. I wonder what were they thinking when developing this foundation? I’m really curious to know.

This is my first time experience with Makeup Revolution foundation and I’m disappointed to say this. I don’t know what to make of these. It’s not a foundation and definitely not a BB cream. So bumped!

Here are the round ups:

  • ¬†Reasonable price
  • Good shade selection, for all skin types (I got mine all too dark) Problem for ordering online ūüė¶ Never know what you order until it arrives.
  • Sturdy package

  • Difficult consistency to work with
  • Near to none¬†coverage

Conclusion –¬†¬†I feel the foundation would be better if the consistency was a little thicker, which would make it easier for application and better coverage.

Please keep in mind- different people are going to have different opinions on products. So, there’s no big earth-shattering revelation there.

But as always, I’m just here to share my 2 cents and everyone is entitled to make their own decisions! Everyone doesn’t have to think the same, and I think we should ENCOURAGE unique perspectives ūüôā

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope I’ll see you guys again on the next one. Bye!

Dramatic Shades Review, Photos and Swatches!

I did a review on Mariposa Metallic Eyeshadows Palette¬†in the past couple of months (click here for full review). I picked yet another palette in Dramatic Shades at the Dollar store recently. I remember mentioning that I’ll be picking another palette if I find them available and luck was on my side that day!

I¬†really like the Mariposa¬†Eyeshadow. Although like any brand, some shades can be a hit or miss, I’ve been pretty pleased with their Metallic eyeshadows I’ve purchased and intrigued to try this Dramatic Shades.

Some shades are smoother/softer than others, and it has a decent pigmentation for the price.

At $3.00 a palette what could possible be wrong, these eyeshadows are super affordable, and I purchase them whenever I get swayed by the sparkles or the pretty color selections and always end up caving in.

I find it to be a nice every day shade especially the neutral earth toned shades and I often wear it solo on my lid and smudged on my lower lash line for a soft wash of color, topped with a mascara.

After swatching them next to each other yesterday, I realized how pretty they are together. I’m definitely going to try incorporating them all in a look!

Here’s the look. Not bad but I’d expect better pigmentation as the Metallic Palette.

The bronze and purple colors are pretty. The color payoff is average and it surely needs to be layered up. Applying eye base before the eyeshadows would be helpful to achieve an everyday look.

I do like this eyeshadow, but because of the loose glitter it’s not very practical, nor is it for everyone. MY only complain for this palette is the powdery texture and some colors lack pigmentations.

I don’t hate this palette but it’s just not something I’d reach for, if I’m aiming for an intense color, long lasting, glammy look.

If you’re beginners who started to play with eyeshadows, then this is worth the buck. For $3.00 only,¬†¬†you get¬†12 eyeshadows which in my opinion is quite an amazing price.

Do you like Mariposa eyeshadows? Which are your favorites?

Thanks for taking the time to read and I hope to see you again on the next one ūüôā

Christmas TAG!

keep calm

I saw this rylie*style¬†doing this Christmas Tag and since I was having so much fun doing my Holly Jolly Christmas Tag, I’m simply just¬†filled with¬†the holiday mood that I decided to do another tag post. Hope you’d like it.

I’m excited already so let’s jump in right away:

1. What’s you favorite Christmas film?

I’d go with It’s A Wonderful Life and Scrooge. We watched these classics movies every year.¬†It definitely gets me in the Christmas spirit ūüôā

2. Have you ever had a white Christmas?

Yes, most of the time. Living in Canada, the percentage of not having a White Christmas is next to zero! But seeing the weather this past few weeks, I might have to take it back. I very much want¬†a White Christmas, it wouldn’t feel the same¬†without snows.

3. Where do you usually spend your holidays?

Christmas day is mostly at home. I love spending a quiet Christmas day with my family! Open presents  followed by our traditional picture taking and watching Christmas classic movies. Then we lounged around, eat, naps and repeats.

4. What is your favorite Christmas song?

Hmm.. this is a tough one to choose. I love all Christmas songs but if I get to pick a favorite it’ll be White Christmas

5. Do you open your presents on Christmas eve?

Nope, I prefer everyone to open their gifts on Christmas Day.  More time to enjoy the gifts we received and be chatty the meaning of the gifts presented.

6. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

Um‚ĶI don’t really know all but only Rudolph,¬†the Red nose reindeer. Okay, I’m¬†terrible¬†remembering names.

7. What holiday traditions are you most looking forward to this year?

Just spending time with my family! Wearing pyjamas on the morning of Christmas Day opening presents under the decorated Christmas tree.

8. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

Fake! I would prefer to have a real tree though. I miss the smell of pine.

9. What is your all-time favorite Christmas sweet/treat?

Butter cookies and fruit cake!

10. Be honest: Do you like giving gifts or receiving them better?

The true meaning of this Holiday season is¬†mainly¬†about the spirit of giving. I very much enjoyed to give more than to receive. The joy that was¬†planted on each and everyone’s face are PRICELESS! I love¬†receiving gifts, of course.

11. What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?

I’ll have to skip on this one until next Wednesday’s post. Sneak peek, it’s a topic we wanted to share in our collaboration posts.

12. What would be your dream place to visit for the holidays?

Vacationing to Japan or Korea with¬†my family ¬†ūüôā

13. Are you a Pro present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?

I enjoy wrapping presents and always buy new ones to store every time. Finishing touch with a bow or star ribbon.

14. Most memorable holiday moment?

Having a new member added to our family. My son was born in Oct and it was so special for a little bundle of joy joining us that year!

15. What made you realize the truth about Santa?

Umm.. I honestly can’t remember. It was so long ago¬†ūüė¶

16. Do you make New Year’s Resolutions? Do you stick to them?

I make new resolutions yearly, and try to stick to them as much as I could!

17. What makes the holidays special for you?

Jesus is the Reason for this Season!

My questions to answer are:-

  1. What‚Äôs your favorite lip product ‚Äď like ever!! Oh my!¬†This is a tough one since I have tons of lipstick and I love them all dearly. If I live there, I’ll be able to wear a kimono and sitting on the mat enjoying roasted green tea or maybe roasted coffee for me (giggling).¬†
  1. What is your favorite¬†clothing line?¬†Ralph Lauren! I love this brand since teenager and that perception never changed! But then for the past two years I’m downgrading to like Joe Fresh or many random brands which is comfortable and yet stylish. I sometimes¬†shop at Old Navy.¬†

  1. What’s your favorite flower? Oh my! This is a hard one because I have a lot favorites when it comes to flowers. Having spent a fair bit of time working with flowers, I love all of them. I love flowers that has beautiful scents like peonies, stephanotis, lily of the valley, hyacinth and jasmine. I can’t really choose which one I like better.
  1. Do You have a pet? Nope, unfortunately. I would like to have a mini turtle though. Easier to take care and no animal fur shedding:P
