Holiday 2017: Sephora Favorites Superstars – Review, Photos & Swatches

Hey everybody! Thank you so much for stopping by for my first holiday review as it’s  the most exciting time like all the past years when all the new collections starts busting out. So I thought it would be fun to point out some of these products that I got in this Sephora Favorites box. There are a few new favorites at Sephora website but this one caught my eyes the most.

Sephora Favorites Superstars

The actual value for this box is $268 but it was retailed for only C$90 on Sephora’s website. It’s not the cheapest box out there but just look at all the high-end products that comes with it. If you’re a makeup lover or makeup collector like me, and the thought of buying a full size quantity product is an issue for you and you well think that you’ll never use that or it’s going to take me a long time to finish that up. I’d prefer to have that.

This set contains: All the high-end goodies:

Unboxing Sephora Favorites

  • 0.1 oz Benefit Hoola Bronzer
  • 0.19 oz Kat Von D Beauty Lock-It Setting Powder
  • 0.035 oz Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Microfinishing Loose Powder
  • 0.5 oz Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer
  • 1 oz Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

  • 0.003 oz Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Brown
  • Beautyblender® The Original beautyblender®
  • 0.01 oz Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in Blacquer
  • 0.06 oz Nars Velvet Matte Lips Pencil in Cruella
  • 0.03 oz Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Golden Pink
  • 0.13 oz Tarte™ lights, camera, lashes™ 4in-1 mascara in Black
  • 0.08 oz Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick in Sell Out
  • 0.08 oz Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Radiant Touch in 2 Luminious Ivory

I love Sephora Favorites because they picked the best products out and for me this is my chance to try out some high-end samplings before committing to the full size, if you know what I mean.

So again I’m going to try all these things on and reviewing them for you.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

Hoola Matte Bronzer by Benefit is like a tried and true that every beauty gurus that I’ve known just has. All swear by it and I agree to their claims. The formula is nice and very smooth. It’s a universal shade that speaks to all skin types. No wonder it’s #1 best selling Prestige Bronzer in the US.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer

It’s got that silicon feel that’s neither thick nor tacky. It’s just a great consistency and it went on so smoothly. This Photo Finish Foundation Primer by Smashbox is as good as it sounds and I’m excited to get it in a deluxe size. By the way, I did mentioned this in earlier post so you might want to check it out here.

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Loose Powder

I’ve always wanted to try out more of the Make Up For Ever makeup and was thrilled to find it in this Sephora’s favorites. So thank you Sephora for including this in the favorites. I can’t wait to try this out. This is the Ultra HD Microfinishing Loose Powder and this is basically a setting powder to mattify the foundation and also the shiny area of your face. I’m very very excited for this.

Kat Von D Beauty Setting Powder

A finishing powder that works on all skin tones, is selfie-friendly (no bounce-back!) and the ultimate power to mask pores. Its got to be Kat Von D Lock It Setting Powder in Translucent. Retail price on their website is $15 for 0.19 oz and it’s a good size for travelling. This could be your daily essential. The formula is finely milled and soft. It gives a lovely dewy finish look that my combination dry skin really appreciate. Did I mention that KVD’s brand is cruelty free? Thought you might want to know.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Radiant

Concealing, sculpting, and brightening the skin made easy with Yves Saint Touche Eclat Radiant Touch in 2 Luminious Ivory. I haven’t tried anything from this brand so I’m really excited to try it out. I can tell you that the packaging is absolutely stunning. The gold color makes it look so luxury and classy. Very well done! I want to display it in my vanity so that I can look at it everything I do my makeup. This is a HIGHLIGHTER that conceals dark circles and highlights your best features, adding instant radiance to your face. It’s available in 10 radiant shades for all skin tones.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Gel Liner Crayon

I’ve been obsessed with Marc Jacobs’ makeup lately and I don’t think it’s gonna stop anytime soon.

Here’s the packaging and how cute is this. It comes in a twist tip format which saves you from sharpening. On their website, they claim the formula is exclusive to MARC JACOBS BEAUTY. So, I’m very excited and just can’t wait to try it.

Anastasia Beverly Hill Brow Wiz

I love Anastasia Beverly Hill’s Brow Wiz to bits. I mean seriously who doesn’t, right! The shade I got is in Medium Brown. It says on their website its long wearing and smudge proof and I can’t agree more with the claim. The soft spooley end works well by blending the product to a flawless finish. When people compliments you on your gorgeous brows, that’s true joy, you guys!

Tarte Light Camera Lashes Mascara

Let’s talk about mascara before we go to the lip products and it’s none other than the Tarte Light, Camera Lashes 4-In-1 Mascara. The formula is a very rich black and it holds the natural curl of my lashes really well. It’s making them look longer and thicker.

two coats mascara

Would you believe if I tell you that I’ve short and sparse eyelashes? Well not anymore with this cruelty free mascara. No smudging and no raccoon eyes except your lashes looking on point. I feel like this stuff might just be magic …

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil

Swatches of the smooth, rich shade of NARS Velvety Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella. A dark red with cool blue undertones and a matte finish lipstick crayon that’s perfect for the holiday seasons.

nars color swatch

Look at that! Ooh I love the way it smells too. I think it smells like sweet candy, if I describe it correctly. I sucks at describing scents sometimes. But this scents is very delicious and uplifting. As far as the formula goes, it’s very pigmented and smooth. It glides on easily and comfortable to apply. I didn’t encounter any tugging on the lips. So ya, I don’t have anything bad to say about this lip pencil. It’s certainly something that I’ll go back to repurchase over and over again in full size. I love it!

Too Faced Melted Liquified Matte Lipstick

I absolutely adore the shade and the formula of this Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick by Too Faced. I’m loving the shade Sell Out which is described as Matte Soft Pinky Brown. It has great pigmentation with a lightweight feels that’s comfortable in the lips. That’s going to get along real well with me.

#LOTD Too Faced Melted Matte

The formula is thin (it reminds me of Colourpop Ultra Matte’s formula) with an impressive quick dry-down time. Try it yourself and see if you love it as much as I do. Definitely a winner in my book!

beautyblender Original

This is the Original version of a Beauty Blender. I look at this so lovingly. I never want to be without this blender. You know I’m adamant to use and bring it everywhere I go. It’s really a life changer for me in my beauty world. I’ve never looked back to use brushes to apply my foundation since I got this sponge. A life saver you can count on!

Urban Decay Setting Spray

If you’re looking for a vegan type setting spray, Urban Decay All Nighter is your answer.

My skin is dry especially at this time of the year and I’m pleased to say that this spray doesn’t leave my face feeling dry or tight at all. It actually helps hold my makeup so much longer than I expected. This stuff is really great and long wearing. Highly recommend!

Dr Andrew Weil for Origins

So here’s the Dr Andrew Weil Mega-Mushroom Skin relief Lotion by Origins. I’m liking the cute packaging. I love green and it’s the perfect me color right here. It smells very aromatic, herbal and divine. I especially this type of scents in my skincare products. It’s so relaxing and calming. I don’t have any acne right now (touch wood) but it’s great to have one ready whenever I need it.

Sephora samples

Here are the 3 samples I picked with my purchase. I got Tony Burch Bel Azur Parfum (is a fragrance for women. Newly launched in 2017), Philosophy Amazing Grace eau de toilette (is a floral perfume with top notes includes mandarin orange and bergamot) and lastly the GlamGlow Supermud mask that I did a post review on last week.

Bought this so that I can have all my favorites in one travel bag. The dream box! Has everything you need on a go from eye, face to lips.

So thank you guys for your time to read and let me know in the comment section what other holiday type of products do you want to see me reviewing. Holiday season is the time that I open up my wallet to its fullest and let the new collection begins.

I’ll see you again on my next blog. Until then bye!

Sharon xoxo
