Introduction of Making Faces Collection is a Sephora Exclusive that consists of Kevyn Aucoins Beauty 5 most iconic makeup products. It’s a travel kit that gives you a lot of bang for your buck considering this is a high end makeup brand. Something that surprises me is that not so many people have actually talked or heard about this brand so for those of you who haven’t then let me introduce you to the collection.
Let’s start with their face products. I got this travel gift set for $35 awhile ago from Sephora and I apologise for taking so long to show it to you guys. As many of you may know, I spent a lot of my time testing out makeup products so it just happened that this kit was buried deep in my closet until I digged it out recently.
Here’s the sample size products: The Celestial Powder in Candlelight, The Creamy Glow in Bloodroses and The Matte Bronzing Veil in Desert Night. Note that all full size products that’s available at Sephora can be a high price point.
These are sample size packaging so they’re really small as you can see. All three are packed in a sturdy black cardboard material which I really appreciate. It protects the product quite well.
The Matte Bronzing Veil in Desert Night has the most beautiful matte brown that’s highly pigmented. It goes on very nice, very smooth and so very pretty. There’s no chunks to it. I think this is very universal so it’s works for any skin tones. So stunning!
The Creamy Glow in Bloodroses is a sheer cream blush that deliver a boost of color and radiant to the cheeks. It claims the product is formulated with grapeseed oil and other natural emollients to nourish and moisturize. It buffs out very well and I’m digging it in. I love a pretty color creamy blush on my cheek but I love it even more on my lips actually. As much as I love nude lip, rocking some vibrant and darker shades is much more fun especially in the fall. Love the shade and the formula, it’s so fall like. They really kills it on this one.
The Celestial Powder in Candlelight is a warm golden candlelight toned highlighter. I’m a NC25 and it works well for me. It’s not in your face type of glow and neither was it too subtle which I personally love. The texture is smooth and nicely pigmented. I noticed is that it kick up some powder and a little chunky. It doesn’t bother me at all since I just tap the excess out before appying. Another product that I’m very pleased with from this brand.
Next is Kevyn Aucoin The Essential Mascara in Black. To be honest, I haven’t tried it yet so I won’t be able to give you a conclusive review of my opinion on this.
But for now, here’s an up close view of the packaging and the wand/brush applicator. Its big brush can pick up a lot of product and easily put on lashes. The wand is slightly bent at the tip so that you can easily get product onto the inner lashes.
I heard some mixed reviews of this product so I’m really intrigued to test it out real soon for you guys. So don’t forget to stay tuned for the update once I’ve given it a fair test run.
I’ve been obsessed with lip liner lately and this warm color lip pencil in Bloodroses is just right up my alley! Is it coincident for it to have the same name as the Creamy Glow blush?
Let me tell you this. This Flesh Tone Lip Pencil from Kevyn Aucoin is my jam right now. I’ve been using this everyday for the past one week by rotation with the L’Oreal Color Riche Matte lip liner that I’ve loving. It just lines so well, very smooth and the color is so pretty. The only pet peeve is that you’ve to sharpen it.
I gave it a twirl and here’s what it looks like. Goes on very nice, soft and creamy. As you can tell it does look like blood roses!
Do you guys like to match your lipsticks to the season? I’d love to know what your favorite fall lipsticks are. Let me know in the comments.
If you’re just starting up makeup, I urge you to check out his inspiration book of Making Faces where he share his techniques and unique tricks of makeup application.
Kevyn Aucoin Beauty is a brand that I won’t falling out of love with anytime soon. In fact I’ll be probably adding more for my ongoing collection.
I hope this was helpful for you guys. Thank you so much for taking your time to read. I really appreciate it. Bye guys!
