I love Sephora. Every beauty girl does and could relate. (Excuse me while I state the obvious, okay girl.) Wall-to-wall lipstick, lotion, luminizer, and so much more—what’s not to like? Oh, don’t even get me started with when they’ve their VIB Rouge 15% Sale alright! I know it’s crazy but I want to talk about it.
Shopping at Sephora is never just a visit be it in store or online shopping. I like to think of it more of a trip to beauty candy land where joy, wonder and discovery can be found (and not to mention a sudden decrease on my bank account).
So, when I heard Sephora giving a Spring VIB Sale, I’m down for it. I’ve a wish list of things I wanted to take advantage of but sadly it was a mere disappointment for me. Why you ask?
You can walk in with empty hands and walk out with bags of products in tow. This, naturally, is both a blessing and a curse. For many, large makeup stores or online shopping can be incredibly overwhelming — especially if you have no clue how to choose what you want and be aware if you’re getting the bang for your buck.
As I was happily clicking and adding products in the cart the moment of truth came upon checking out. I was on the fence when I need to choose whether to use the promo code for the 15% sale or the free deluxe sample (usually when you spend $25 using promo code). At the end I’ve to compromise the FRESH Fresh Black Tea Firming Corset Cream which I’ve been dying to try out over the 15% sale instead. I realized the 15% sale wasn’t such a big deal at least to me. It’s enough to pay for taxes only. On top of that, they reduces the ebates cash back from 4% to 2.5% which I find it strange. Once the VIB Sale closed on Apr 29, I saw the 4% was back again on ebates website.
In fact, the one thing I picked up from the VIB Sale is the Caudalie Favorites Set that I’ve been obsessed with. Note the key to good makeup is good skin so I’m very excited to try them out and see if they’re actually going to be the bang for your buck.
This travel bag is retailed for $39 but valued for $85 and it comes with five deluxe sample size products as shown below:-
- Premier Cru The Eye Cream – for all skin types
- Instant Detox Mask – to tighten pores
- Beauty Elixir – for smoothing & glowing complexion
- Micellar Cleansing Water – 3in1 remove makeup, cleanse and tone
- Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet – to quench and smooth skin
LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS what you’d like to see me review first!
The last product I got from this brand is a full size bottle of Grape Water for sensitive skin. I don’t really need this honestly but since I don’t want to pay $8 for shipping, I went ahead to add this in my shopping cart in order to reach my $50 purchase for free shipping. I read many good reviews of this product so I’m going to give it a try and let you know what I think.
As you can see, I didn’t go all the way with my crazy purchase this time around.
I think it’s great for Sephora to offer discount sales but let’s just say the perks are not enough to empty my bank account. I ordered through ebates a week before Sephora VIB Sale and I got a 4% cash back. After the sale ends, I ordered Sephora Favorites Ultimate Skincare Vault from through ebates and the cash back was up to 4% again. I’ll share that in a separate post. This time, I use the promo code to get the Black Tea Firming Cream and I’m happy to finally have it in my hot paw.
If you’re planning to spend a lot of money or splurge a fortune on beauty products just for their VIB 15% sale then don’t stop what you’re doing because you can save a lot on taxes.
I’m saying this because I would’ve picked up more products in my shopping cart if only it was a fair sale. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t stop buying from them, but I would be more cautious when it comes to VIB Sale like so. I’ll definitely do some math before clicking the Place Order button in the near future.
SO, that’s just my take and I hope you’d enjoyed reading. Comment below if you’ve any unpleasant experience shopping at Sephora or let me know what you think of the recent VIB 15% Sale?.
