Clinique Beauty – Review & Swatches

Hey guys! Hope you’re all doing great and enjoying summer so far. I  wanted to talk about Clinique beauty products today. I had this delivered to my mailbox many moons ago actually and you’d probably have seen me posted it on Instagram. But since I’ve just came back from vacation and had tried these products while I was there, I’m feeling the need to talk more on these.

I brought them with me for my vacation since they’re all in travel size. I shared some photos on my Instagram you like to check it out. Very convenient and travel friendly. I’ve wore them everyday and it’s been more than a week now that I’m back so, I do think it’s a fair amount of time given for me to share my 2 cents opinion with you guys.

So, here are the products (drums roll)…

You will see below that they’re mostly makeup products except with one eye cream which I might need more time to get the results I want.

I got from left to right this cute packaging Lipstick in Love Pop, a High Impact mascara, Clinique All About Eyes, a Limited Edition Eyeshadow Palette and last but not least is the Skinny Stick Eye Liner in Demi-Grape. I got them from Sephora when it was on Sale for $49.00.

As you can see there were five makeup essentials that I was so excited to try them out.

First thing first, can we just take a moment to just look at this amazing neutral color eyeshadows. They’re freaking pigmented and really easy to use not to mention versatile!!!

Some textures are smoother than the others. I noticed there are two shadows which kicked up some powders when I did the color swatches (pic below). There is a reason why I said this if you continue reading, you’d know what I mean by that.

I like the fact that each eyeshadow has its own unique formula, if that make any sense. I find that these shades are all amazing with greatly pigmented formula! They’re very versatile to be used to create any look you like. You can wear them for everyday office or in the weekends. Gorgeous colors … right!

Color roundup from different eyeshadow pans, from my left to right: from pink chocolates quad- from pink chocolates quad – from strawberry fudge duo – from starlight starbright duo – from morning java quad & from jammin duo.

I always love to see some pretty nice mixture of matte, satin and shimmery shadows in a palette. I was just in awe with excitement let me tell you. How cool is that, for you to see your favorite eyeshadows to be selected by Clinique for this palette, right! I mean this is a brilliant concept. You got to experience different formula and texture from various palettes be it duo or quad. I say “Yay!”

I’m wearing them again today and so far I’m very happy with the finishing look. It’s a palette that I’ve been reaching for more lately. I’ve also noticed that they lasted for a good 5-6 hours without needing any touch-up and the shadows haven’t budged. This is always a plus in my book 😉

Next item I got is the High Impact Mascara in 01 Black. I’ve been putting more effort when it comes to eye makeup lately which includes mascara. Let’s see if this mascara managed to impress me or not.

This mascara comes in a cylinder tube with a rather short bristles. I really like this applicator since it was very easy to work on. In case you didn’t know, I’ve short and sparse lashes so I’m in a dire situation to find my holy grail mascara. I find that this mascara works very well on my lashes. The bristles are soft that makes it so easy for me to apply the formula. It feels smudge free to me. I wear two coats on my lashes and the results are quite impressive. This mascara sure gives a darker impact lashes just with two coats. My lashes feels lightweight, voluminous and lengthen despite feeling like not wearing anything at all on my lashes. That’s so cool! Very comfortable and I love the formula of this product. They’re not gunky, tacky or smudgy like some mascara do. So, ya this one is definitely a winner in my book.

Who don’t love a lipstick when it’s as pretty as this, right? That’s right… I’m talking about this Clinique Pop Lipstick in the shade Love Pop.

I love the cute packaging and I got to admit that this shade is super gorgeous. It also gives a demi-matte finish for those of you who doesn’t want a matte lippies. It comes in 20 popping shades that suites everyone.

The formulation is very nice and richly pigmented. It glides very well and I really like the color payoff with just one swoosh on lips. Another thing worth mentioning is that this product stays true to color.  What you see is what you get! it just has this amazing quality of restoring moisture.

This lipstick pop feels moisturizing and lightweight on lips. The staying power is about 3-4 hours even after eating and drinking.

I would definitely recommend this and would repurchase for myself again. I want all the colors. ALL OF THEM! To sum it up, I would say this is a really amazing quality product that I know you would like if you try it.

Okay, we’re half way there. I promise this is going to be the last two products I’m going to talk about.

So, let’s continue with eyeliner, shall we?  It’s not any eyeliner but Skinny Stick Eyeliner you guys!

I got mine in Demi-Grape and there are six other shades available in the color range. I tried using it on my lash line and tight line but I just find it a little hard with this one. Not sure if I got the bad ones but no – I wouldn’t say to run and get this particular one, since I only tested on this shade.

It works decent for an eyeliner but just “meh”. I seriously find it difficult to work on, with tugging and average pigmentation. It doesn’t go as smooth and creamy like I would’ve expected. It tugged a bit and I would honestly say this one needs more effort for sure. It’s not terribly bad but just okay in my opinion.

I also wanted to mention that this eyeliner besides it’s been a little dry-ish on the formula, I find the price of this eyeliner to be a bit expensive for the amount of products you get. Out of all the products in this bag, I would not recommend this to you.

Again, this is just my opinion and you can like yours but I don’t like mine. Let me know if you guys had the same problem with this liner? Please comment below.

Lastly, the product I got from Clinique is their All About Eyes.  It’s a very nice and soothing cream for reducing circles and puffs. I haven’t tried it long enough to give a full detailed review but on first impression, it looks like an eye cream that I’d love. Even though it stated on the back of the packaging that it’s 100% fragrance free, I could still smell the delicious luxurious scents. It reminds me of the Lancome Nutrix Royal Body Repair Cream that I so love.

I really enjoy the scents and I’m hoping that this product would show me positive results after trying them for another month. So, you got to stay tuned for my updates.

Have you tried any products from Clinique lately, my dear?

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day. I hope to see you guys again on the next one. Bye!

  1. That eye shadow palette is beautiful! I have the Love Pop lipstick in the gwp size too – have yet to use it since it’s more of a Fall / Winter shade. I’ve been curious about the Clinique All About Eyes for ages now – might have to try it!

  2. I tried Clinique products a while ago but haven’t bought them since. They’re a bit too expensive for me. 😦 Definitely love the eye shadow pallet and the lipstick here though!

  3. It’s been ages since I’ve bought anything from Clinique, but I have been dying to try the lipsticks and I love the one you got. Also, I want one of the flower blushes. Love the shadow palette you got too. Nice set
