Drugstore Matte Eyeshadow Palettes

Hope you are doing good! Today, I’ll be reviewing an eyeshadow quad from the Physicians Formula Matte Collection and Hard Candy 10-Pan Eyeshadow Palette.

So, let’s roll …  here are the Quad Matte Collection in Canyon Classics 3882C and the 10-Pan Eyeshadow by Hard Candy in Birthday Suit.

Physician formula matte quad eyeshadows

I got this Quad Eyeshadow Matte Collection in Canyon Classics for $10.49 at Walmart. Net wt 0.22 oz. The packaging comes in a grey four pan palette with a transparent lids that closes securely. It’s lightweight and travel friendly. It has a tiny mirror and an applicator inside this packaging.

Many of you may have already know that Physician Formulas drugstore makeup products are cruelty free but for those of you who just read this post, I hope this information would be helpful for you.

The four colors in this palette are – Off White, Medium Brown, Light Brown and Grey. The two brown shades look very similar but the lighter brown is of cool toned while the medium brown is of warmer toned.

All four shadows are of matte finish and with high pigmentation. It’s a great shade and formula to wear for office or running everyday errands. The texture is soft and smooth and quite easy to blend with. The colors are not loud and true to be neutral palette.

I used the three shades for this look I’m wearing today. The Off White on lids and as highlighter, the Medium Brown on crease and the Grey on my outer corner. A neutral nude for day look.

They’re long lasting and stay on through the day without primer since I’m indoor most of the time today. If you have oily lids then you might want to apply primer before wearing these matte shadows for extended longevity.

I’m absolutely obsessed with this eyeshadow quad. If you love having a softer look on your eyes then look no further. I’m with the opinion that this eyeshado quad is great for beginners or for those who want to expand their matte eyeshadow options. You can get them at your local drugstores or at Walmart.

What’s great about these quads is the quality. Each eyeshadow is as pigmented as the other. That’s so hard to find in quads these days! I love the color selection in each quad as well. My suggestion is that if you don’t want to commit to buying a high end palette with mattes, I would recommend trying out Physicians Formula. These are high quality shadows and I’ll definitely be buying more of these when I run out.

The next item I got is this Hard Candy 10-Pan Eyeshadow Palette in Birthday Suit for $6.98 at Walmart. Many of you might know that Hard Candy makeup products are exclusive to Walmart only and for those who are beginners here, now you know where to snag your Hard Candy products:P

I’m a big fan of eyeshadows but I’m even more obsessed with eyeshadow palettes frankly speaking. I just can’t help wanting more. I have many shimmer eyeshadow palettes with one or two mattes in them but what I really was looking for is the all matte shadows in one palette, which I did find at a drugstore. Yay!

There are 10-Pan in this palette and it has warm and cool toned shades. The packaging is super cute with the gold trim at the corner end on a pu/suede material. It has a good size mirror with two sponge applicator in it. The colors are versatile for day and night. It’s also very easy to work with. It blends well and no fall out. So, yay!

They are all matte and creamy in texture. Stayed well on me the entire day. I heard that another palette with good pigmentation is the “Raining Men” if you opt for some brighter colors with shimmer and glitters.

This is a good example of the opacity that you can expect from that Navy Blue in the Birthday Suit palette with Pale Yellow as highlighter. I spotted a few skin toned shades from this palette and I’ve to tell you that my favorite color is the Peach (in the middle), Navy Blue (on the second right) and the Taupe and Brown.

Overall, I think Birthday Suit has a chalk full of highlighters that you could paired it with other palettes. The downside of this palette is the lack of colors intensity except for the Navy Blue and Dark Brown. The texture is soft and smooth with impressive pigmentations except with a few chalky shades when pulled out from the pan. But once blended on lids it all smoothen out beautifully.

So, to sum up, I would recommend Birthday Suit if you don’t have any matte light shades in your collection already. It’s a matte eyeshadows that’s also a major hit if you’re on a budget.

That wraps up on today’s Drugstore Matte Eyeshadow Palettes and I hope you find them interesting and helpful. Until next time, stay beautiful.

  2. I haven’t tried any shadows from Hard Candy but I really like the PF quad! My son learned how to open my shadows over the weekend… OH NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! so now my quad has baby finger marks all over it and little chunks missing where you got his finger nails in there. He also got ahold of a few lipsticks and painted his face, haha. Kids. Gotta love ’em!

    • The PF matte eyeshadow quad is very good for blending on creases and I’m very impressed myself with the Hard Candy 9-pan palette. I haven’t tried other palettes but I really like this one. For the price, I highly recommend. Your son is so cute!He must be doing a face painting. I have a small boy and can totally relate LOL! I agree – Gotta Love them!😀
