I watched a youtube video by a beauty guru where she talks about her foundation tag a while ago. I’ve been super busy and foundation tag topic has been sort of buried among many other tags and makeup reviews. But anyways, I’m super excited today to be talking on this foundation tag. Yay!!!
First thing I wanted to point out is what my skin type is and what type of foundation I normally like. I would say that I’m more of a dry skin typed. Generally the foundation that I will choose has to have good coverage and long lasting are probably my two top priorities. In today’s tag I’m just going to focus on drugstore foundations.
So, the first question is :-
1.Best Packaging? I could go on several ways with this but if I’ve got to choose, I’ll have to go with the Becca Stick Foundation. I love stick foundation because it’s easy to bring around and super easy to blend on face. It looks high end and the awesome thing about stick foundation is that it’s not going to leak out on you, or squeeze out from the tube or if it’s going to break or burst out open. You can bring it anyway and I really enjoy this stick packaging foundation.
2.Best Color Payoff? (Coverage) This question seems like it would pertain more to different color cosmetic than foundation and so I’m going to change it to Best Coverage. The best coverage foundation is the L’oreal Visible Lift Serum Absolute in Honey Beige in my opinion. No surprises here! This is a good foundation and if you are looking for medium to full coverage to hide major skin discoloration and redness around your nose area then you’re going to like it. I really love the coverage on this one where it leaves skin not looking cakey.
Maybelline Fit Me Foundation is one of the foundation that I used a lot when I need a buildable formula for coverage. It has a soft glowy finish for dryer-skin toned and if you have an oily skin typed then you might not like this unless if you’re using the Fit Me setting powder with this foundation.
My shade: Soft Honey
4.Best for Travel?
NYX Stay Matte but not Flat Powder Foundation (Net wt: 35 ml) It comes in a toothpaste tube packaging which is light and easy to bring when travelling. The weight is not an issue (liquids permitted is 100 ml for carry-on) if you’re planning to fly from place to place. This tube has a twist off cap, so I find it save to put it in my makeup bag. This is also a water base foundation which I prefer when going travelling since I’ll be wearing it everyday.
My shade: Nude
L’oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder. I picked this up with sheer curiosity that it might work and so I dived in to find out that this formula is not hydrating for my dry-skin type and the coverage and staying power is not something I’ll count on.
My shade: Natural Buff
6.Best color names?
Maybelline Dream Wonder Liquid Touch Foundation. This bottle of dream wonder somehow reminds me of the “I Dream of Genie” movie I watched like to a decade ago. So, I couldn’t find any color names that fit in today’s foundation tag than this. Therefore, I choose Maybelline as it brings me into the dream I wanted to be in🙂
My shade: Sun Beige
Hard Candy Glamoflauge Invisible Camouflage Foundation. Reason this is my least used is because this is the latest foundation which I did a review on last week and I’m be using it as frequent in the future especially when the days are getting warmer a lighter sheer foundation is good in order to prevent foundation fading away.
My shade: Light/Medium
Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation has been in my book from the beginning and I’m loving it. It gives my skin the fresh and radiance – natural finish that I’ve been looking for. You wouldn’t feel like you’re wearing a mask but leaving your skin fatigue free effect. The scents is amazing and the coverage is beautiful.
My shade: Dark Beige
So, there you have it my foundation tag which I hope you’ll try doing it too. It’s fun and I’m excited for another tag and in the meantime I look forward to read your answers to this tag. Just let me know by putting a link or tweet me.
